and the morning overall aboard his Can-Am

Shelbyville, TN (5/14/2011) -
It was another winning weekend for the UXC Racing
team as Michael Swift and Cliff Beasley charged
hard to take wins in both the 4x4 Open and U2
classes and claim first and second place on the
morning class podium at the new Indy 100 GNCC
This was the first time Gosport, Indiana hosted
the series, so the UXC team played it smart
and studied the track carefully as they walked
it on Friday. “I could see where there
would likely be bottle necks forming and I just
tried to figure out where I would be able to
get around them,” explained Michael Swift
of his winning strategy that definitely paid
off for him.

The 4x4 Open class was the third class to leave
the starting line and Michael Swift was in a
close second to Zac Zakowski going into the
woods. It wasn’t long before Swift took
over the lead and began to check out. Swift
made his way through two other classes and several
bottle necks and in the final lap, caught up
to teammate Cliff Beasley, who was the overall
leader. “It’s always fun when Cliff
and I get to race together like that. We always
push each other and I think that’s part
of what helps us to be fast,” said Swift.

Beasley is undefeated in the U2 class.
Beasley has won an impressive 24 races
in a row

Swift and Beasley swapped positions several
times before Swift was able to take the lead
and pull away a bit. Swift’s hard charge
landed him his class win and the overall win
in the morning classes. “I am so happy
to take the win for our team and our sponsors.
We had a really good day; and for Cliff and
me to be one and two on the podium is something
I am really proud of. I really have to give
a big thanks to our sponsors for all of their
support, and especially to David Jesse for all
of the help he has given us so far this season,”
said Swift, who is the current points leader
in his class.

In the U2 class, Cliff Beasley continued to
show everyone why he is the champion. Beasley
shot off the line, grabbing the holeshot and
checking out. Beasley led his class from start
to finish and won with over a 13 minutes lead
and joined his teammate on the morning podium
in second place. This marks Beasley’s
24th consecutive class win, which could quite
possibly be a GNCC record. “Twenty four
straight wins is a lot and I am proud of that,
but I am still going to take it one race at
a time and just keep trying to win,” said
Beasley, who remains humble in light of his
incredible performance.
In the Youth classes, Tayton Swift, son of
Michael Swift, has recently taken a liking to
GNCC racing and has raced two rounds in the
70 CVT class so far this season. Tayton has
improved with each round and with a little practice
could someday follow in his father’s champion
footsteps. “He really likes racing and
he has been doing well,” said proud dad,
Michael Swift.
The next round of the 2011 GNCC series will
be heading to Rock Run in Patton, PA on May
28th where the UXC Racing team will again be
racing for the top of the podium.
