Team UXC Racing's
Michael Swift Won the 4x4 Open Class
for the second time this season
|
Lewisburg, TN (3/29/2011) - It
was another triumphant weekend for the UXC Racing
team as both Cliff Beasley and Michael Swift charged
ahead to take their class wins, while Michael
Swift would also end his day on the morning podium
at round number three of the 2011 GNCC series.
Steele Creek in Morganton, NC was the hosting
facility for the weekend’s events. Track
conditions were near perfect and the rain that
had been predicted, held off for Saturday’s
ATV races. With conditions so ideal it was no
wonder that the team was able to excel once
again.
In the 4x4 Open class, Michael Swift charged
off the start and soon made the pass on Zac
Zakowski to take over the lead in the first
lap, but Swift had company in the way of Bryan
Buckhannon and Rick Cecco, who were in hot pursuit.
Despite the pressure, Swift kept his lead but
fell to third after stopping in the pits. Swift
quickly regained his lead in the next lap and
checked out on the competition taking the 4x4
Open class win.

Michael Swift also
finished an impressive 3rd Overall for
a Podium finish
|
Swift finished over two minutes ahead of second
place and his time of 02:11:51, also earned
him third overall, giving him the final spot
on the morning podium. “It was a really
fun race. Bryan and Rick and I were all pretty
close so it made things pretty interesting out
there, but I was able to pull away and take
the win. Everything has been working really
well for us so far this season and I’m
glad to be able to put our sponsor’s names
on the podium,” said Swift.

Team UXC Racing's
Cliff Beasley quickly gained the lead
in the first lap to take his third win
of the season
|
Cliff Beasley had been feeling a bit under
the weather just days before the race, but he
did not let that get in his way as he charged
his way to his third straight win of the season
in the U2 class. Beasley was in about fourth
off the line but took the lead shortly into
the first lap. Even though he was still feeling
a bit ill, Beasley checked out on the competition,
eventually taking the U2 class win by almost
8.5 minutes. “I’m glad I was still
able to go out there and win. I’ve been
not feeling well so that held me back a bit.
I think I could have made the podium if I were
feeling 100%,” said Beasley, who has every
intension of making it to the podium at the
next round in South Carolina.
Round four of the 2011 GNCC series is the Big
Buck round that will be held in Union, South
Carolina on April 9th, where the UXC team plans
to keep winning and to top the podium.
