Team UXC Racing's
Cliff Beasley won the U2 Class &
took third overall in the morning race

Shelbyville, TN (3/16/2011) -Team
UXC Racing's Cliff Beasley continued his quest
to dominate the U2 class and lay claim to a podium
position, while teammate Michael Swift overcame
adversity to take a solid second place in the
4x4 Open class and hold on to his class points
lead.
Round two of the 2011 GNCC series, aka: The
General, was held in Washington, GA where heavy
rains the week before let up and allowed the
track to dry out a big. Although some muddy
spots and heavy, thick clay still lingered into
Saturday morning, conditions were ideal for
the most part, which suited the team well.
In the U2 class, Cliff Beasley was off the
line in the top three and soon took over the
lead in his class. By the end of the first lap,
Beasley had more than a one minute lead over
his competition, and the gap only grew from
there. Beasley's hard charging style ensured
the number three spot on the podium for him
and gave him his class win as well.

Can-Am's Cliff
Beasley had a great start & was
top three going into the woods

Beasley finished he race with a time of 02:05:06,
over eleven minutes faster than his nearest
class competitor. “This was my first time
on the new 2011 Renegade 800R and I was a little
nervous because my old 2010 Renegade was the
one that gave me 14 wins in a row and I didn't
want to break that winning streak, but the 2011
model held up great and kept me out front, which
is what I was hoping for. I really have to thank
Can-Am and all of our sponsors because I couldn't
keep winning without their support,” stated
Beasley, who has won 27 of his last 28 GNCC
races.

Team UXC Racing's
Michael Swift was going for his second
win when he broke a shaft and lost 4WD
|
Michael Swift, who is also known as a fierce competitor
out on the track was doing well in the 4x4 Open
class and was going for his second win of the
season, but when Swift was coming up on the end
of the first lap he broke shaft and lost 4wd.
Despite the mechanical issue, Swift continued
to press on and held on for a solid second place
finish in his class. Swift still holds the points
lead I the 4x4 Open class and plans to keep it
that way. “It was kind of a rough day for
me. I had some issues out there. I'm disappointed
I didn't win but I'm happy that I was able to
hold on to the points lead. Next round will be
better for me and I am looking to take another
win,” said Swift.
Round three of the 2011 GNCC series will be
held on March 26th at Steel City in Morganton,
NC, where after two weeks to rest up and get
ready, the team will be in the hunt for class
wins and the podium.
