North Adams, MA (10/19/2011) -
Team Southside Polaris headed
to Hemonds Mx in Minot Maine for the 12th
and final round of the 2011 NEATV Series.
It was a great weekend with temperatures
in the 70s and 80s all weekend which is
pretty lucky for Maine in October.
For the final round AMA Pro Travis
Moore made the trip up from McKenzie
Tennessee to try out the Polaris Outlaw
and see what the series was all about.
He arrived Friday afternoon so his only
time on the MXR-450 was during practice
on Saturday which he took full advantage
of. It wasn’t long before he started
throwing the machine around and looked
quite comfortable by the end of the
day. When Sunday rolled around, no one
really knew what to expect, but Travis
put on quite a show. Coming out 2nd
in the first pro moto, he fell back
to 3rd but would keep his pace up and
finish the moto 2nd.
In the first moto of Pro-Am he got
out 3rd but would come off and fall
back to last, but with his never say
die attitude would make his way back
up to 4th by the end of the moto. In
moto 2 of Pro, he lined up right next
to Wimmer and Creamer but when the gate
dropped his Rage Atv Powered Polaris
would out run them all to the first
corner and grab to $100 NAC’s
holeshot award. Creamer and Wimmer would
eventually get by him and he would go
on to finish 3rd in the moto, and take
home his first Pro podium finishing
2nd overall for the day. In moto 2 of
Pro-Am he would get out 2nd but a flat
rear tire would cause him problems dropping
him back to 4th, but keeping 3rd in
sight until the mid-pipe would come
loose. He would end up 7th in the moto,
and 6th overall for the day.
Jesse Onesti ran in the Open and 4-Stroke
A classes, and he would get out 2nd
in his first moto of 4-Stroke A, and
on lap 2 he would take the lead over,
but Hakala would make the pass, and
Jesse would finish 2nd in the moto.
In moto 2 Jesse would pull the holeshot
but Hakala would get past and along
with a Canadian rider and he would finish
3rd in the moto and overall. In Open
A Jesse would get the moto 1 holeshot
and hold off Lombardo for 3 laps, but
he would eventually get by, and Jesse
would hang on for 2nd. In moto 2 Jesse
would again get the holeshot and would
hold the lead until he lost his shifter
with 2 laps to go, and with it stuck
in 4th gear would still be able to finish
2nd, and win the overall for the day.
Cody Paolella, who had locked up his
4-Stroke C championship before the last
race had moved up into the B classes
and came away with a 2nd and 3rd overall.
Some said it was “luck”
or a “fluke”. But in his
first moto of the day in 4-Stroke B
he would get out 2nd, spin out and make
his way back up to 5th. In moto 1 of
Open B, he would get out 2nd again and
make his way past Chamberland for 1st
and take the moto win. In moto 2 of
4-Stroke, he would grab the holeshot
and slowly stretch out his lead and
take moto win and finish 3rd overall.
In his final moto of the day in Open
B, he would again holeshot and take
the moto win and overall for the weekend.

Paige Whipple
|
Paige Whipple made a special appearance
and would run the womens class after
not racing all season. She would finish
with a 4th in the first moto, and then
in moto 2 she would pull the holeshot
and finish 3rd in the moto for a 3rd
overall.
Bruce Gaspardi came into the weekend
only 4 points out of 5th in Collegeboy,
and finishing 6th place in both motos
and the overall, would solidify the
5th overall for the season.
