at MX 101

North Adams, MA (9/29/2011) -
For the 11th Round of the NEATV-MX
the team headed to MX-101 in Epping New
Hampshire. It was the first time that
the series had visited the new venue.
The track and facility was great along
with the weather.
This weekend with Cody having locked
up his 4-Stroke C championship after
not losing a moto on his Polaris Outlaw
all season he moved up to the Open &
4-Stroke B classes to see what he is
going to be in for next season.
In moto one of 4-Stroke B Andy would
have 3rd pick and Cody 12th pick which
would put him on the far side of the
gate house and one of the farthest from
the hard left handed first turn. Andy
would pull the moto one holeshot with
Cody in third. The Kawi duo of Turner
and Marra would be 2nd & 4th. Two
laps in Turner would make his way past
Andy and then in the final corner Marra
would get by Cody putting him in 4th.
The top 4 would have over a 15 second
lead over the rest of the field. That
would be the same scenario in the next
3 B class motos. Jesse would be up next
in the first moto of 4-Stroke A, where
he would get 7th, and make it up a few
spot to finish 5th place. Bruce would
head out next in Collegeboy, having
not practiced that morning because he
wasn’t feeling the best so he
took it easy on the holeshot and would
make his way from 14th up to the 8th
position taking advantage of the 3 lanes
throughout most of the track.
Andy and Cody would be on the gate
next for the first moto of 4-Stroke
B, with Andy getting out 2nd and Cody
getting shuffled back to the 8th position.
But by the end of the first lap Cody
had made his way up to the 4th position.
Andy would hold down the 2nd position
until the last lap when he would let
Marra slip by, with Andy and Cody finishing
3rd and 4th. Jesse would be up next
in Open A, pulling the holeshot and
he would be able to distance himself
from the rest of the field and take
the moto 1 win.
After the intermission 2nd motos would
start up, and with 4-Stroke B up about
10 motos in we had a little extra time
to relax. Cody would pull the moto 2
holeshot with the 2 kawis hot on his
tail. Andy this time would be the one
to get shuffled back sitting in the
9th position, but by end of the moto,
the #95 would make his way up to the
4th. But he wouldn’t be able to
close the gap enough to make a move
on the top 3. Marra would make multiple
attempts to get by Cody but with no
success, giving Cody a moto win only
his first weekend in the B class and
Andy would end up 4th. Cody would end
up 2nd overall and Andy 4th. With 4-Stroke
A on the gate, Jesse would get out first
with Spader and Gehring out right behind
him. But Jesse ran a smart race and
would go on to win the moto and finish
3rd overall for the day. Bruce would
be on deck in the Collegeboy and get
out mid pack, but a KTM in front of
him was knocked off the track and turned
back on to the track into Bruce sending
him rolling. He got back up and going
again and would be able to make it back
up to 10th before running out of time,
giving him 10th overall for the day.
Andy and Cody would line up for their
last moto of the day, and they would
get out first and second. Andy would
separate himself from the rest of them
and Cody would fend off multiple attacks
from Marra. On the last lap coming out
of the second to last corner Marra would
get past Cody, but Cody would dive to
the inside in the last corner and take
the position back. Andy would get the
moto win and first overall for the day
and Cody would get 2nd in the moto,
3rd overall for the day. Jesse would
get yet another holeshot in moto 2 of
Open A, but would get put over a berm
a couple laps in and have to settle
for a 3rd place finish and 3rd overall
for the day.
Team Southside heads to the final round
of NEATV on Columbus Day weekend at
Hemonds MX in Minot Maine, and we look
forward to seeing everyone there.
