Team Southside
Polaris' Cody Paolella placed
first overall in the 4-Stroke
C Class at Hurricane Hills
|
North Adams, MA (9/12/2011)
- Team Southside headed to
back to Hurricane Hills in Clifford
PA for the tenth round of the 2011 NEATV
Series. Saturday was a perfect day for
practice, with a chance for rain on
Sunday during the afternoon.
Well Cody was out first in Open C,
his rage motor would pull the holeshot
and get him a 20+ second lead by lap
3. But has he came up the hill and made
the turn to double into the whoop section,
the lip sent him off sideways and he
cased the landing and cartwheeled of
the side of the track. Cody immediately
jumped back up, got the quad back on
all fours and having the electric start
he was able to get the machine fired
up immediately just as the 2nd place
rider overtook him. He took off in pursuit
as they took the white flag and then
headed up the two elevators and out
of site. When they came back into view,
Cody was back out front and went on
to take the moto win. Andy was on the
gate, and came off the line in 2nd behind
Marra, and as they rounded the first
corner, the skies started to open up,
so much for “afternoon showers”.

Andy Magyan
would end the weekend just outside
the Open B Class Podium in fourth
|
As they finished their first lap, the
thunder and lightning came in hard,
as Turner took 2nd from Andy. With Lightning
all around and it striking the top of
the hill they brought the red flag out
but Andy and the pair of Kawi’s
stayed on the track and completed another
lap before being herded off the track
by officials. He would end up 3rd in
the moto, and they would have to wait
15 minutes for the storm to pass, and
then they got out there with some equipment
to move some of the standing water.
About a half later they would be ready
to get back to racing with Jesse being
the first one up. He would get out 3rd
in Open A, and that’s where he
would stay holding off attacks from
King and Tremellen. Bruce would be up
then in Collegeboy with the last gate
pick he would get out 13th and drive
through the pack on a still very wet
and slippery track to finish 6th.
Then at the end of the first motos
would be the 3 4-stroke divisions with
Cody out first again. Again he would
get the holeshot and this time would
win and manage to keep it on all fours
the entire moto. With that win he would
lock up the 4-Stroke C championship,
so a big congrats to him. Andy would
go out next and pull his first of three
holeshots for the day and also go on
the win the moto on his Precision /
Maier / Fox Polaris. Then it would be
Jesse’s turn, and he would get
squeezed out going into the first corner
but was able to make his way back up
to the 8th position.

Jesse
Onesti placed third in Open
A & also placed fifth in
4-stroke A aboard his Polaris
Outlaw ATV

The afternoon would roll around and
our boys would be the first three motos
of the 2nd half. Cody would pull another
holeshot in the moto 2 of Open C and
go on to take the win and overall for
the day. Andy would pull the Open B
holeshot and lead for 2 laps before
having an electrical issue and and falling
to 10th, but he would make it back up
to 6th for a 4th overall. Then Jesse
would get out 2nd in Open A behind Hakala,
but this time Tremellen would make his
way by Jesse and he would hold on for
3rd, 2nd overall. Bruce would head out
for moto 2 of collegeboy, getting out
12th and making his way past a few to
finish 9th in the moto, and 8th overall
for the day.
Then to round out the day would be
the three 4-stroke motos, Cody would
get to the corner first but would be
passed for the lead and then have to
pass them back. He would go on to take
the moto win with a flat rear tire.
Andy would get his 3rd holeshot in 4-Stroke
B against the potent kawi duo of Marra
and Turner. He hold onto the lead for
2 ½ laps before losing it due
to the carrier bearings. It was a disappointing
end of the day, but being that consistent
on the line today to grab 3 of the 4
holeshots is really something to build
on and shows just how fast the rage
motor is and how good we got the quad
set up. Andy will be looking to build
off that next weekend at Epping. Jesse
would round out the day for us, getting
out 7th and moving up to 4th by the
end of the first lap. He would then
pressure Dommel for a alittle over a
lap before getting by, and would finish
the moto 3rd holding off the pack of
can-am’s Pomeroy, Troiano, and
Gehring and would get 4th overall for
the day. So a big improvement for Jesse
this weekend and he will also be looking
build off that as the season winds down
with 2 rounds left.
Team Southside would like to thank
their sponsors for their great support
and products and we look to have a great
final 2 rounds of racing, and are already
gearing up for the 2012 season and will
have more to come on that in the coming
weeks.
