Team Southside Polaris' Andy Magyan
took the holeshot and the overall
win the Open B ATV Class |
North Adams, MA
(8/15/2011) - The team headed
to MX-207 in Lyman Maine. When ever you
head to Maine there is always a chance
of a downpour. Saturday practice was perfect
but during the night and into Sunday it
rained hard. But that didn’t worry
us too much, anything can happen in the
mud but the Polaris Outlaws’ were
ready for it and so were the guys.
The way the race schedule was set up,
we were the first 3 motos to go out after
practice was done with Cody Paolella in
Open C up first. He would grab the holeshot
and checkout. Then Andy Magyan headed
in out in Open B were he would also grab
the holeshot and go on the win the moto
by over 10 seconds. Then Jesse Onesti
would get out 2nd in Open A, and eventually
make his way by Hakala when he slipped
up allowing Onesti to take the moto win.

Shortly after, Bruce Gaspardi was up
in Collgeboy, and what seemed to be a
decent holeshot was not, when he and 3
others would get tangled in the first
turn. He would eventually get free and
make his way up to the 6th position. Then
it was the three 4-stroke classes back
to back to back. Cody was up first again,
and again he would get the holeshot and
go on to take the win. Andy, in moto 1
of 4-stroke B would get hit in the first
corner and knock the mid pipe out, and
then in the second corner he would get
stuck and stall it because of there being
no back pressure. He would get it refired
and get a couple positions back to finish
7th. Jesse would get out mid pack in 4-Stoke
A and have to toss the goggles mid moto
but still was able to hang on to 6th place.

After the first motos finished up, they
took about a half hour or so, and scraped
up some of the mud, cleaned up the first
corner, then got right back to racing.
Cody would grab the moto 2 Open C holeshot
and again distance himself from the field
and take the moto win and overall. Andy
would also grab another holeshot on his
Rage powered machine in Open B and take
that moto win and overall. Jesse would
get out 2nd in Open A and hold that position
for the entire moto, which gave him the
overall for the day.
Bruce would then head back out in the
2nd moto of Collegeboy, and this time
he would get out better in the 4th position,
make his way into 3rd for a short time,
and then fall back to 4th where he would
end up for the moto and the day. Cody
would then be up and take his 4th holeshot
of the day, and go on to sweep the weekend,
taking his 4th win and another overall.
Andy would get to the corner third, but
his rage motor would out power the other
two down the straightaway and slip him
into the first position where he would
stay for the moto, and would end up 3rd
overall for the day. Then Jesse would
head back out in 4-Stroke A, where he
would go on to take 7th place in the moto
and for the overall.
The team now heads to Englishtown for
round 9. See you there.
