Beau
Baron placed second in the WORCS ATV Pro
Class aboard his Roll Design Prepped Honda
TRX450R ATV |
Fallbrook, CA (10/31/2011) -Make
that THREE WORCS
CHAMPIONSHIPS for Women's A rider, Julie Russell,
who once
again took a first place finish at Racetown 395.
With one race still
left in the series, Russell already has enough points
to clinch the
overall. On average, Russell turned a full minute
faster lap time
than anyone else in the Women's A class, and this
is the second
year in a row that Russell has claimed a WORCS championship.
Russell is going out on top as she plans to retire
from ATV racing
after the final 2011 round at Speedworld MX in Arizona.
Beau Baron had to settle for a second place finish
at Racetown
after one of the fiercest Pro class battles WORCS
fans have
witnessed to date. Baron turned in the fastest
lap time of the day
at just over 9 minutes and 21 seconds. He lead
early on in the
race, then made use of an early fuel pit strategy.
Can-Am racers,
Josh Frederick and Jeremie Warnia, made the pass
in the pits,
with Baron hot on their tail. Baron caught Warnia
while he was
fueling, and then outmaneuvered Frederick on the
logs in a very
difficult Endurocross section of the racecourse.
In the last laps,
Baron got a little out of shape in the whoops,
and was forced to
concede the lead, and ultimately the win.
Pro Racer David Haagsma was got off to a great
start and was
running in the top five for all of his laps, but
a rear brake
mechanical failure sidelined his MCR Honda, forcing
him to take a
DNF.
The Pro-Am class packed a podium full of Roll/Elka
Riders.
Garrin Fuller is running in top form once again,
claiming the
class win. Chase Thomas and Keith Johnson also
claimed familiar
spots at the checkered flag, finishing second
and third
respectively.
