Yamaha Quad-X Heads
to Cahuilla Creek MX for Round 3
Yamaha
Quad-X Racing Series - Round 3 - Anza, CA -
May 8, 2011
San Bernardino, CA (5/6/2011) - The
third round of the 2011 Yamaha Quad-X Series returns
to California this Sunday, May 8th, at Cahuilla
Creek MX in Anza, CA. As the series nears the
halfway mark, 2010 Quad-X champion Dustin Nelson
leads the series standings with two overall victories
in as many rounds.
Hot on Nelson’s heels are MCR/Maxxis Tire’s
Beau Baron and Ethan Thatcher, who have taken
second and third respectively at each of the previous
Quad-X round this season. Baron has been putting
plenty of pressure on Nelson so far this season,
and with just six points separating the two, Baron
is well within striking distance for the championship
lead.
The previous round at Arizona Cycle Park saw
Dustin Nelson turn a holeshot into an early lead
in both motos, while Baron and Thatcher found
themselves battling with each other for the chance
to make a run on Nelson. Baron managed to get
ahead of Thatcher in both motos, and while he
closed the gap on Nelson each time, Nelson managed
to hold him off and take the win.
