Wabasso, MN (2/27/2012) - ATV
Freestyle rider Derek Guetter was recently injured
when he came up short on a landing while attempting
an ATV backflip. Guetter is one of the main
attractions on the Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle
Tour and is one of the only ATV Freestyle riders
featured in the show.
"Hello everyone! If you haven't
already heard, 2 weekends ago I cased on a
backflip and crashed (came up about a foot
short and clipped the rear wheels on top of
landing) . Broke my right femur, collapsed
lung, broken ribs, fractured a few vertebra,
and separated shoulder. Already had the femur
surgery, and I'll be getting my shoulder looked
at this coming week.
This is such a bummer, I was really getting
comfortable and riding really really well,
but I'm thankful that my injuries weren't
any worse. All this happened in Detroit, so
I was stuck there for about 11 days in the
hospital. I just got home this past Wednesday,
feels amazing to be home and being around
friends and family really helps. I'm not sure
how long this injury will keep me sidelined,
but I just wanted to thank all of you for
your amazing support and I will come back
stronger than ever! Thank you so much everyone,
Look forward to getting back on my Can-Am
and riding once again!"
