Portland, OR (3/24/2012) - Many
off-road vehicles require much brighter driving
lights to ensure maximum visibility and safety
for the driver. The new PIAA 570LED Powersports
Driving Lamps are designed to meet that kind of
intense lighting need by casting 75,000 lumens
of brilliant cobalt-blue (6000 Kelvin) illumination
in a precise long-range driving pattern, with
a 30-degree spread. These powersports lamps are
offered as aftermarket accessories for installation
on most types of off-road vehicles, including
trucks, jeeps, SUVs and UTVs.

The PIAA 570LED lamps feature a computer-designed,
highly polished multi-surface reflector. PIAA’s
use of advanced Reflective Facing Technology
(RFT) allows the rearward-facing 9-watt LED
bulbs to project off the finely tuned reflector
for a precise beam pattern, which in turn leads
to improved long-range sighting and visibility
during nighttime driving.
The RFT also serves to maximize the output
of the lamps’ LED bulbs. The result: fewer
bulbs are needed to achieve the overall brilliance
and illumination provided by the PIAA 570LED
lamps. Having fewer LEDs means less heat and
lower power consumption. Each PIAA 570LED lamp
has two 9-watt high output LED bulbs. For two
lamps the total draw at 12 volts is only 3 amps.
Robertson says, “RFT plays a key role
in the lighting performance of specific PIAA
lamps. For the PIAA 570LED lamps, it promotes
better beam control and greater output and improved
range than ordinary forward-facing LED lamps
and light bars. This is especially important
for a wide range of scenarios where vehicles
are used off road.”
Robertson also points out the greater longevity
drivers can expect from the lamps’ LED
bulbs under normal use. Compared to halogen
and H.I.D. bulbs, the LED bulbs in the PIAA
570LED lamps are notable for the longer life
they offer — providing still another benefit
for owners of off-road and powersports vehicles.
The PIAA 570LED lamps are also durable. The
lamps feature a polycarbonate and cast aluminum
housing and seven-inch polycarbonate lens. The
overall diameter of the lens is 7-3/16 inches;
depth is 4¼ inches.
The PIAA 570LED lamp kit includes two lamps,
mounting brackets, complete pre-terminated wiring
harness with switch and relay, and installation
instructions. The kit’s MRSP is $539.00.
