Parts Plus' Dalton Millican
Moves up To Pro Class at Red Bud
AMA
ATV MX Nationals - Round 10 - Buchanan, MI -
July 30, 2011
Oakland, KY (8/3/2011) - Dalton
Millican riding his Parts Plus Honda made a big
move this past weekend at the famous track in
Buchanan Michigan simply known as Red Bud. Millican
who has a nice points lead for the 450A National
Championship decided to try his hand at the Pro
Am Classes. This is a big step up in competition
but a move Millican will have to make next season.
Millican had a very eventful weekend, starting
with the first moto of Pro Am Unlimited. Like
he has done at least once on every stop on the
AMA ATV National Motocross Series Millican pulled
the holeshot and raced his way to a seventh place
finish. Moto two saw Millican near the front of
the field at the start of the race but eventually
finished the moto in the eighth spot. This finish
gave Millican a ninth place overall finish for
the weekend in Pro Am Unlimited.
Sunday morning qualifying for Pro Am was when
things got a little hectic for Millican. While
out trying to qualify, Millican busted a radiator
and burned up the motor in his bike. This meant
a few things, one being a very bad starting spot
for moto one and two he was really going to need
some help to get his bike ready for the race.
That was when Toby Reed of Moto-Xperts stepped
in to help out with a motor swap. Not only did
Millican have the Moto-Xperts guys helping, AMA
Pro legend Keith Little jumped in to help out
as well. With no time left to spare Millican made
it to the starting line for the first moto of
his career in Pro Am.
A seventeenth place overall was not what Millican
was looking for in his debut in the Pro Am Production
class, but what Millican found was a group of
friends and racers who will jump right in and
help when a problem arises. Millican looks to
improve on his finish at the final race of the
season at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch coming up
August 12-14.
