Washington, GA (3/1/2011) - Dalton
Millican had a great start to the American Motorcycle
Association’s (AMA) ATV National Motocross
2011 season. At the opening event of the season
at the new track, in Washington GA, Millican riding
his Parts Plus Lucas Oil machine competed in two
different classes finding success in both.
Millican competed in four motos had four race
start hole-shots and two moto race wins and an
overall victory.
Millican began Saturday with a hole-shot in the
1st moto of the 450A class and finished the moto
in the 3rd position.
Moto 1 of the Production A class started again
with Millican pulling the holeshot and then falling
back to 4th place when the checker flag fell.
“I was so upset at myself with how I finished
in both of these motos. I just did not push myself
as hard as I needed to and that will not happen
in the second motos” Millican said.
True to his word Millican came out with the holeshot
in the second moto of Production A and lead wire
to wire for the win. This victory gave Millican
a second place overall in the Production A class.
Millican began moto 2 of 450A with the holeshot
eventually winning with a nine second lead over
the second place finisher. With this win Millican
was crowned the overall champion of the 450A class.
“After the first motos I knew what I needed
to do and I just put my head down and went out
there and raced as hard as I could. This is a
great way to start the season. I am very proud
of how Mike and Nate Walsh and Micah MacDonough
set up my bike and it worked flawlessly. I really
want to thank all the great people at Parts Plus
and Lucas Oil for all their support” Millican
said.
