Anza, CA (2/10/2010) - Round
seven and eight of the DWT World ATV Motocross
series was a successful one for the Mushin Racing
team with Kodi Ward taking the win for both
rounds in the 90cc Production class and Yamaha/Mushin
Racing’s Thomas Brown would find his way
to the podium as well.
Wet weather was on hand for round seven, but
Kodi Ward took the holeshot and lead for the
entire first moto. Ward would go on to take
the moto one win, finishing four seconds ahead
of second place. Moto two was almost a repeat
for Ward as he again took the lead, dominating
his class, all the way to the checkered flag.
Thomas Brown was looking good at round seven
as well as he grabbed the moto one holeshot.
Brown would fall back to second, but he would
stay close to leader Josh Upperman the whole
moto while holding off Chad Wienen. Brown would
finish in a solid second in moto one. In moto
two, Brown was third off the line and held strong
all the way to the checkered flag. Brown’s
2-3 finishes earned him the third spot on the
podium.
For Sunday’s round eight, the rain let
up and the track dried out to near perfect conditions
that once again let Kodi Ward go 1-1 in the
90cc class for the overall win.

“Kodi did a great job out there this
weekend. He was running a new shock set up that
Jim From Motowoz made for him and it worked
amazingly. Jim really went the extra mile for
us and had the rear shock built and sent to
us in only two days,” stated team manager
Scott Ward.
Thomas Brown also did well in round eight.
In moto one, Brown would take second early in
the race, but fall back for several laps before
reclaiming his position in the final lap, to
take a second place finish. In moto two, Brown
ran into some issues when a ground wire broke.
The wire was fixed, but Brown’s seat was
not firmly reattached and came off, leaving
Brown to race for about eight laps without a
seat, which would put him back into a fifth
place finish, giving him third overall for the
final round.
