Fort McDowell, AZ (1/22/2010) -
Mushin Racing made the trek out to Grinding Stone
Motocross in the desert southwest for rounds five
and six of the DWT World ATV Motocross Series
to get in some testing and training, and to do
a little promotional work as well.
Jeff Rastrelli was looking good as he made
his Pro class debut and kept a good pace, despite
overshooting a jump, in moto one of round five,
that sent him tumbling. Luckily Rastrelli wasn’t
hurt and continued to race. Rastrelli seemed
more at ease in the second moto, taking a fourth
place finish, which put him in 5th overall for
the day. Rastrelli encountered a couple of issues
that held him back in round six, but team owner,
Scott Ward was still happy with how the young
rider performed. “We used this event to
get some of the bugs worked out and we wanted
to see where Jeffrey was at for riding, so we
accomplished what we set out to do,” stated
Ward. Although Rastrelli was racing in the pro
class for this series, he will be sticking to
the Pro-am Production class when it comes to
nationals, where he is expected to do very well
this season.

Brown claims a 2nd place finish in Moto
2 to earn a spot on the Podium |
Thomas Brown ran into some issues in round
five that included a broken axle in moto two.
Despite his bad luck in round five, Brown came
on strong in round six. Brown had good starts
in both motos, taking a third place finish in
moto one and made a nice pass on Josh Upperman
to take second in moto two, giving him second
overall for round six. “It was a good
opportunity to get out there and get in some
practice. I am getting everything dialed in
and with the support of Mushin Racing; I should
be ready to go in March. Last season, I was
really prepared at the beginning of the year
and I did really well. I want to be at that
level going in again this year and stay consistent
all season. I have a good program in place so
I am confident,” said Brown.
Besides having a successful weekend of racing,
Mushin Racing decided to take advantage of the
geographic location in regards to round two
of Supercross that was going on in Phoenix.
“We had a drawing and gave away tickets
for a youth rider and their parents to accompany
the team, myself and Chad Wienen in a fully
catered, luxury suite at the Supercross race,”
said Scott Ward.

of the Supercross giveaway and was a big smile
from the time Cody Gibson presented him with

“We all had a great time and we are looking
forward to doing more of this kind of thing
in the future,” Ward said.
The Mushin Racing team will be busy over the
next few weeks as they prepare themselves and
