Reynoldsburg, OH (7/8/2010) -
Mushin Racing’s Kodi Ward continued to
look strong as he took to the podium in the
90 Auto class at round eight of the AMA ATV
Motocross Championships, while teammate Jeffrey
Rastrelli would make it into the top five of
the Pro-am Production class.
Pleasure Valley was the hosting facility for
round eight where Mushin Racing was the title
sponsor for the weekend’s events. A redesigned
track and great weather greeted racers, who
were quite pleased with the changes.
The new track seemed to suit Kodi Ward quite
well as he charged off the line in moto one
of the 90 Auto, Jr. class, grabbing the holeshot.
Ward would lead the entire moto and finish with
a three second lead over his competition. In
moto two, Ward would again take the holeshot
and the lead, but in the final lap he would
fall back to third. Ward’s strong 1-3
finishes were enough to put him on the podium
in a respectable second place overall.

Mushin
Racing's Ashton Ward took 7th overall
on the weekend at PVR after grabbing both
moto holeshots & now sits in 2nd place
overall in his class |
Ashton Ward, who has been very consistent all season long, would take both moto
holeshots and take a set of 8-4 finishes, which
would put him in seventh overall for the day,
but the younger Ward brother’s determination
has him holding a very comfortable second place
in the championship points in his class.
“Kodi and Ashton did a great job this
weekend. They both took the holeshots and they
finished well,” said Scott Ward.
Chase Snapp, who has been a front runner all
season long, grabbed the moto one holeshot in
the Pro-am Production class and was holding
a strong lead, but in lap four he would stall
his quad and fall to the back of the pack. In
moto two, Snapp would take a mid-pack start
and have to fight his way through traffic. Snapp
would work his way into the number six spot
before crossing the finish line giving him seventh
overall. Despite a tough weekend for Snapp,
he is still holding down the points lead by
24 points.

Chase
Snapp is still the current Pro-Am Prod
class points leader by 24 points despite
a tough weekend at PVR taking a 7th place
overall after two hard faught motos

Jeffrey Rastrelli had a nasty crash on the
start in moto one of the Pro-am Production class,
which would give him a 12th place finish. Rastrelli
would come back strong in moto two, charging
his way to a second place finish, which would
give him fourth overall for the day.

Mushin's
Jeffrey Rastrelli landed just off the
Pro-Am Prod podium in 4th place overall
despite a big crash in the first moto
- he came back strong in the second moto
to take a 2nd place finish aboard his
Suzuki ATV |
“Jeffrey has been doing great all season
and he made an awesome comeback in moto two
after that crash in the first moto,” stated
Scott Ward.
In the Pro Production class, Thomas Brown was
looking consistent as he would take 8-7 finishes,
putting him in seventh overall. Brown’s
consistency so far this season has him holding
down a solid sixth in the Pro points chase.

Pro
ATV MX racer Thomas Brown went 8-7 on
the day to finish out in 7th place &
now sits in a very respectable 6th place
overall in Pro Points |
Cody Gibson took a set of great starts this
weekend as he charged off the line in third
place in moto one. Gibson would hold his position
for several laps before falling back. Gibson
would again take a great start in moto two,
but pressure from Chad Wienen and Dustin Wimmer
would send him back. Gibson would end his day
in ninth place overall.

Cody
Gibson was consistently a front runner
in both of his Pro motos but pressure
from Wienen & Wimmer in moto two degraded
his score & bumped him back to 9th
place overall on the day |
Round nine of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross Championships
