Reynoldsburg, OH (6/2/2010)
- Mushin Racing's Youth Team continues
to be a force to be dealt with at each and every
round of the 2010 AMA-ATV
Motocross National Championships. With multiple
youth racers competing in multiple classes, it's
hard to watch a race from the fence without catching
a glimpse of a Mushin Racing youth blasting by
on the track.
Based out of Barberton, Ohio, Mushin Racing's
Maci Devenport takes on the guys in the 90 Auto
Senior and 90 Production classes.

Maci Davenport
snatched up 3rd place overall after
going 3-3 in the 90 Auto Sr class at
Steel City
|
With two straight 3rd place moto finishes at the ATV Stampede in Delmont, PA,
young Devenport took a 3rd overall in the 90
Auto Senior class and held on to her 3rd spot
in the overall series' rankings in the class.
In the 90 Production class, Devenport has been
recouping from a couple of missed rounds in
the early going but continues to up her finishes
in the class. She took down a 4th place overall
finish during Round 5 and currently sits in
11th overall in the class.

Tanner
Stockton is currently in 5th in points
after a great, 2nd place finish at round
5 - Steel City
|
Teammate Tanner Stockton let his Mushin Racing
light shine in Pennsylvania, especially in the
90 Auto Senior class. Stockton earned his third
2nd place overall event finish in the class
on the season and, barring a missed round in
the early going, would be enjoying a higher
ranking in the overalls. He currently, after
5 rounds, sits in 5th place in the series's
standings in the class.
Cody Shelton, another Mushing Racing youth
competing in the 90 Auto Senior class, continues
to get his race game going after an early season
injury. At Steel City, Shelton pulled in a 9th
overall finish and sat just 3 points outside
the top ten in the series' standings.
Super Mini class competitors know very well
the heat that can be put on by Mushin Racing's
Hunter Harper and Zack Thompson. Both youths
put their hearts in their rides and when all
was said and done at Round 5 the two had put
Mushin Racing in two of the top five finishing
spots. Harper, currently after 5 rounds, holds
down the 3rd place spot in the overall standings
and helped his cause with a 5th overall at Steel
City. Thompson, on the other hand, after being
absent from the first three rounds, scorched
the Pennsylvania country side with a 2nd place
finish, beginning his climb up through the ranks,
jumping from 19th in the standings to 11th.
Spencer Meyer, Mushin's 70 CVT standout, dropped
to an 11th place finish during Round 5 and,
after the ATV Stamped was in the books, found
himself just outside the top five in the overall
standings, one point shy of fifth, sitting in
6th overall.

Kodi Ward
returned to race in the 90 CVT class,
coming away with a 5th place overall
on the weekend
|
Returning to the 90 CVT ranks after an injury
early on in the season, Mushin Racing's Kodi
Ward made a statement to the competition that
he was back. With 4-6 moto scores, the young
Ward brought to the team a highly respectable
5th place overall finish and, even though his
ranking in the class has been hampered by his
absence from racing, Ward put the boys and girls
of the class on notice that he's back with a
vengeance.
The little man with the big ride, Mushin Racing's
Ashton Ward, hung tough as a 38 pound bag of
concrete nails in the 50 Limited Junior class.
By doing so, Ashton finished 3rd in moto one
and 5th in moto two, netting an overall event
finish of fifth place. Ward, after the first
five rounds, held down the 2nd spot in the overall
series' standings in the class and, to his credit,
had not finished outside the top five in all
the rounds of the 2010 AMA-ATV Motocross Championship
rounds thus far.
