Reynoldsburg, OH (5/26/2010) -
Mushin Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli claimed
his best finish this season to take second on
the Pro-am Production podium while teammates Ashton
Ward placed a solid second in the 50 Ltd class
and Brian Johnson would claim second as well in
the College 16-24 class.
Jeffrey Rastrelli was looking good at round
four of the AMA ATV Motocross Championships
as he claimed his best finishes so far this
season. Rastrelli flew off the line in moto
one to take the holeshot in the Pro-am Production
class. Rastrelli held his lead for one lap before
Joel Hetrick would make the pass on him. Rastrelli
hung on for a solid second place finish in moto
one.

#728 Jeffrey
Rastrelli also claimed the 2nd spot
in the Pro-Am Unlimited Class
|
In moto two, Rastrelli would claim second in
the holeshot and hang onto his position until
the final lap when he would fall to third. Rastrelli’s
2-3 finishes allowed him to claim the number
two spot on the Pro-am Production podium.
“I’ve been working really hard
and it feels really great to come out here and
get on the podium. I’ll be training hard
to make sure I can do it again,” said
Rastrelli, who would take 1-2 finishes in the
Pro-am Unlimited class for second overall as
well.
Chase Snapp was looking good in the Pro-Am
Production class as well, but went down mid
moto and would finish in 11th place. In moto
two, Snapp was on a mission and charged his
way to the number two spot before crossing the
finish line. Snapp’s 11-2 would put him
in sixth overall.
Brian Johnson would go 3-5 in the Production
A class for a 5th place finish overall, but
he came on strong in the College 16-24 class
and took two solid second places in both motos
to give him second overall for the day.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s class, Jamie
Jones had two solid runs taking fourth in moto
one and third in moto two. Jones’ solid
performance put her in the third spot on the
Women’s class podium.
In the Pro ranks, it appeared Thomas Brown
could possibly make the podium again as he would
come on strong in moto one to take fourth place,
but issues he encountered in moto two after
a first turn pile up, would dash his hopes for
the day. Cody Gibson, who is still recovering
from surgery, would hang on for 11-12 finishes
that would give him 13th overall.
In the Youth classes, Ashton Ward came on strong
in the 50 Limited class. In the first moto,
Ward would take a respectable third place finish,
but in moto two, he would have a fight on his
hands. Ward was in third off the line and battled
hard with Traxton Liebe before working into
the number two spot in the final lap. Ward’s
3-2 finishes gave him second overall and is
currently second in the points race.
