Memphis, TN (3/31/2010)
- Dalton Millican made the AMA ATV Motocross
season opener a good one. Millican competed
in two classes with great results in both.
Starting the weekend in the 450A class, Millican
worked his way through the field to finish
2nd in moto number 1. Sunday morning with
rain threatening Millican prepared himself
for a slick race track. Millican got the holeshot
and held the lead for over half the race eventually
slipping back to second. Millican finished
the event just behind the first place rider.
This gave Millican a second place overall
finish for the 450A Class. “I must say
that I am very happy with how this weekend
worked out. I broke the transmission in the
race bike in practice on Friday. This meant
I had to race my practice bike which does
not have the power of the race bike but it
all worked out great” Millican said.
Millican also competed in Production A Class.
In moto one of Production A Millican was in
3rd place as lap number one was completed
and he held on to that spot to finish the
race. In moto 2 Sunday afternoon Millican
found himself in a very tight battle with
a huge group of riders eventually finishing
fifth.
This finish gave Millican a fourth place
overall in Production A Class. “In Production
A I think my old practice bike just didn’t
have that extra little push I need to separate
myself from the group of guys I was racing
with. It is still a great way to start the
season” Millican said.
“I really want to thank Joe Byrd for
working with me all winter. Sometimes I thought
he was trying to kill me but now I see the
results and it was all worth it” Millican
said.
