Taft, CA (9/18/2012) – Soaring temperatures didn’t slow down Motoworks / DWT racer Josh Frederick as he piloted the Can-AM Commander 1000 SxS  to a career best finish, and both Frederick and Dillon Zimmerman finished in the  top five in the Pro ATV main at the 2012 WORCS season finale at Honolulu Hills MX in California.

Frederick started the Motoworks / DWT Commander SxS on the first row and got off to a rough start. However, due to a bottleneck in the canyon where several machines were flipped over and caused the race was restarted.  Frederick had been running sixth when the carnage occurred and was able to restart in the same position.

Frederick kept the hammer down and made two passes that moved him up to forth spot. Mistakes by the leaders in the final lap, opened the door for Frederick and Can-AM to advance to second place. He held it until the checkers and was elated with his best finish yet aboard the Motoworks / DWT Can-Am Commander.

“I’m really stoked to get second for Can-Am and end the season on an awesome note!” said Frederick. Frederick finished fourth overall for the season in the SxS Production 1000 class.

Frederick and his teammate, Dillon Zimmerman, also brought in solid finishes during the ATV Pro Race. Zimmerman started near the back of the pack, but he put his head down and charged his way up through the pack into the fifth spot by the end of lap one.  Zimmerman continued his charged and passed Frederick in lap sixth to take over the fourth spot.

Zimmerman charged to within thirteen seconds of the final podium spot, but he wasn’t able to make the move and  took the checkered flag in the fourth spot for his sixth top five finishes of the year.

“I was really happy with the bike overall. The Can-Am was great; I can’t thank them enough, DWT, Motoworks, FOX shox everyone” said Zimmerman who finished out the year fourth in pro points.

Frederick came out of the gate in the third spot, which he held for several laps before he dropped back to the fifth spot at the mid-way point of the race. Although he gives no excuses, arm pump and last minute setup changes made it a hard day for the racer. He battled with his setup all day and was able to finish out in fifth position behind his teammate.

“I struggled with my setup; no excuses though. It is what it is and move on from there” said Frederick who finished out the year second in the WORCS Pro ATV Championship race with two wins and five podium finishes to wrap-up a successful 2012 season.

Zimmerman is also set to clinch the Italian MX Championship aboard his Motoworks/DWT Can-Am DS450.  With one more race at the end of September, and he only needs to complete one moto to win the title.

“Hopefully I can do it and win the championship. It’s been a pretty cool experience and I can’t thank Can-Am and DWT enough for sending me over” said Zimmerman.

The Motoworks / DWT team finished up a successful 2012 WORCS racing with both racers within the top five in points standing, and the pair compiled seven podium finishes on the Can-Am DS450 in the 2012 WORCS series.
