Vista, CA (8/9/2012) –
Can-Am / Motoworks’ Dillon Zimmerman celebrated
his birthday by claiming a WORCS career best
pro ATV finish at round number seven of the
2012 WORCS series at Cahuilla Creek MX as he
charged his way to the second spot on the pro
podium, while teammate Josh Frederick joined
him in third.
Dust and very warm temperatures were an issue
for this round, but the track had a good,
fast layout that had plenty of challenges
for everyone. The dust was an issue for many,
and a good start was crucial, which was exactly
what Dillon Zimmerman got.

Zimmerman charged off the start and grabbed
the holeshot. Zimmerman was under pressure
right away, but held off his challenger for
four laps before he fell back to second. Once
in second, Zimmerman put his head down and
held his position despite pressure from the
competition and stayed in the number two spot
all the way to the checkered flag for his
best finish of the season in second place.
“It felt good to get that holeshot.
That really helped me a lot and helped me
get a good finish today. It was really dusty
and rough so I knew I needed to get a good
start. I pushed as hard as I could for the
entire race and I got a good finish,”
stated Zimmerman.

Motoworks
/ Can-Am's Josh Frederick placed third
in the class. Frederick is currently
second in the WORCS Pro ATV Points aboard
his Can-Am DS450 ATV |
Josh Frederick had a bit of a tough time
for this round, but still overcame the odds
and found his way to the podium. Frederick
was in good shape off the start, but in the
first lap, going into the pro section of the
track, the dust became an issue.
“I didn’t get a good start and
it was so dusty. I couldn’t see and
I ended up going over in a turn, which put
me at the back of the pack,” Frederick
explained.
Frederick’s mishap sent him back several
spots, but he was not about to give up and
mounted a charge. Frederick was able to close
in and make his way into third, behind his
teammate, Zimmerman but again the dust became
a factor and Frederick could not see well
enough to get a good line and make a pass,
putting Frederick in third at the checkered
flag.
“I’m pretty happy with my finish
and I am hoping to come back strong for the
final round at Taft,” said Frederick.
The final round of the 2012 WORCS series
will head to Honolulu Hills in Taft, CA on
September 14th – 16th where the Motoworks
team will be going for the podium.
