Vista, CA (10/9/2012) Can Am / Motorworks's Chris Bithell charged hard to claim a third place podium finish at round eleven of Can Am GNCC series held at Powerline Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Can-Am / Motorworks’ Chris Bithell was mid pack off the start, but he quickly charged his way toward the front of the pack before heading into the woods. The rain that impacted the region Friday night had the 11 mile course very slick and offered even the XC1 Pro class some very challenging sections.

By the end of the first lap, Bithell had worked his way into the third place position and would hold it until the third lap where he would be shuffled back to fourth. The white flag came out giving the racers the one to go signal, and Bithell put his head down and charged once again to overtake the third spot, which he held to the checkered flag to claim the final spot on the podium.

Bithell exclaimed from the podium that his set up was working really well in these conditions. His Motorworks / Can-Am pulled hard right from the start and kept him in contention for the podium. The track was really slick and traction was needed at the speeds the XC1 runs and confidence in your equipment means everything.

"The pace was fast and the spectators really came to the rescue pointing out the lines that would be the best and fastest at the bad sections. I couldn't believe I was able to power my way to the front at the start, my Motorworks powered Can-Am was really allowing me to make up ground and get past lappers when I needed," stated Bithell.

Chris Bithell currently holds the fifth position in the championship points and is really looking forward to the final two rounds that remain in the season. The next round of competition will be held in Crawfordsville, Indiana on October 20th. This is a demanding round that features an incredible spectator turn out and a course that will no doubt be a true test for all the racers with Bithell going for another podium finish.
