Can-Am
/ Motoworks' Chris Bithell took third
at the Big Buck GNCC |
Vista, CA (4/18/2012) –
Can-Am / Motoworks’ Chris Bithell braved
the dusty conditions and charged his way to
the podium at Big Buck for round number four
of the 2012 GNCC series, giving the team its
second podium finish of the season.
The course at Big Buck was well laid out,
but the warm and dry weather that has been
present on the east coast so far this spring
produced very dusty conditions that hampered
vision and was the source of several wrecks
over the course of the weekend, but Motoworks’
Chris Bithell was up for the challenge.
Bithell got off to a decent start inside
the top ten and was in seventh place before
the end of the first lap. By the second lap,
Bithell had worked into third place. “The
track was well designed and it had a great
flow. I could go fast in the woods through
the many sweeping turns that kept me on the
gas. It also had fast technical sections that
allowed me to put some distance between myself
and whoever was in my dust,” said Bithell.

One advantage of the dusty conditions is
that it was difficult for anyone to close.
If you weren’t already on someone’s
grab bar and sticking with them, you couldn’t
see, and you had a tough time getting in close
enough for a pass. Several times I came to
a stop to see where the track went,”
said Bithell, who rode smart and consistently
for the remainder of the race.
Bithell was able to close in on the leaders,
but ran out of time before he could get close
enough to make a pass and claimed third place
at the checkered flag. This is Bithell’s
second podium finish on the season and his
is currently sitting in third in pro points
with 73 points.

“Even though it was dusty and pretty
tough out there, I was able to finish on the
podium, so I am happy. I have to thank Can-Am
and Motoworks for all of their hard work.
Everything just keeps getting better each
race, so I am hoping to be on the podium again
in Kentucky. It’s a new track and I
am excited to race there,” said Bithell.
Round number five of the 2012 GNCC series,
aka: the Mammoth, will be held at Park Mammoth
Resort in Park City, KY on April 28th, where
Motoworks’ Chris Bithell will be going
for the top of the podium.
