Can-Am
/ Motoworks' Jeremie Warnia makes his
way to the finish at Speed World MX
in Surprise, AZ |
Vista, CA (11/18/2011) –
Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia charged his
way to the podium to claim his first-ever WORCS
Pro Championship at the final round of the 2011WORCS
series held at Speedworld MX in Surprise, AZ
this past weekend, while his teammate, Josh
Frederick, would secure the runner up position,
giving the Motoworks team the top two positions
in the points championship.
“It feels pretty good to wrap up the
championship. We have all worked really hard
this year and this is our second championship
and we couldn’t be happier. There’s
no better platform than what we are on. The
Can-Am DS 450 is a solid machine. We’ve
been racing it since 2008 and we have done
a lot work and it really shows,” stated
Motoworks team owner, Johnny Leach.

Warnia and the Can-Am / Motoworks ATV
race team celebrates Warnia's WORCS
ATV Pro Championship Win
|
Despite the extra challenge of rain that
was thrown into the mix for Sunday’s
races, Can-Am/Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia
prevailed. Warnia was second off the start
and followed the leader for several laps.
Warnia took the lead briefly, but fell back
to second when he stopped to pit. From there,
Warnia decided to ride smart; knowing all
he had to do was finish in front of Josh Frederick
to win the championship. Warnia held steady
in the number two spot and took it all the
way to the checkered flag for the 2011 WORCS
Pro Championship. “I am so happy! I
have been training very hard and to win a
championship over here in the states really
means a lot to me. I have to thank Can-Am,
Motoworks, Johnny Leach and the entire team
for everything they have done. It really means
a lot to me,” said Warnia.

Can-Am
/ Motoworks' Josh Frederick placed second
overall in the WORCS ATV Pro Class Championship |
Josh Frederick, who was tied for points with
his teammate going into the final round, knew
he would need a good start due to the wet
conditions. “This round was all about
the start,” said Frederick. But a good
start was elusive for Frederick as he started
out just outside of the top five. Frederick
moved into the number five spot shortly into
the first lap. Frederick fought his way through
the competition and took over the number three
spot, but he was unable to close in on Warnia
and would take a third place finish and claim
a solid second in Pro points. “I went
out there and gave it everything I had and
finished on the podium. It’s not exactly
where I wanted to be, but I am ok with it.
I am disappointed I didn’t get the championship,
but I am really happy for Jeremie and his
winning the championship is good for our team,”
said Frederick.
Dillon Zimmerman ran a solid and consistent
race this weekend as well. Zimmerman started
just outside of the top ten and worked his
way through traffic, rounding out the top
five at the checkered flag. Despite being
injured earlier in the season Zimmerman still
finished in a respectable sixth place in points.
“This was kind of a tough season for
me with being injured earlier, but I still
finished well and I can’t thank the
Motoworks team enough for everything they
have done for me this year and I’m hoping
to be back with them again next season,”
said Zimmerman.
