Can-Am/

Jeremie Warnia take podium by placing
first and third at round 6 Washougal

Vista, CA (8/25/2011) –
Can-Am / Motoworks’ Josh Frederick topped
the podium in Washougal, Washington and closed
in on the pro points lead, while teammate Jeremie
Warnia joined him on the podium in third.
It was five years since the WORCS series
had seen the loamy soils of Washougal where
warm weather and dry conditions helped the
Motoworks team charge their way through the
trees to the pro podium.
Current champ, Josh Frederick flew off the
start, grabbing the pro holeshot. “I
got the holeshot, which doesn’t happen
too often, so I was pretty happy about that,”
stated Frederick.

Frederick’s lead would not last however
and he would fall back to the number three
spot in the first lap. Frederick began to
pace himself, but stayed close to the leaders
and in the last half of the race, Frederick
took over the lead. Once back out front, Frederick
put the hammer down and put in a solid one
minute lead over the rest of the competition
and took it all the way to the checkered flag.
“I felt really good out there and everything
went flawlessly. It felt good to take the
win and close in on the points lead a little
more. We still have a few rounds left in the
season so I am hoping to close the points
gap and take home a championship at the end
of the season,” said Frederick.
Jeremie Warnia was looking good as well.
Warnia was in third off the start and moved
into second early in the first lap. Warnia
held his position for several laps before
falling back to third when teammate Frederick
made a charge for the front. Warnia held on
to third and rode unchallenged all the way
to the finish line. Warnia is still in the
points lead with 137 points, and his teammate
Frederick is only five points away, but Warnia
is determined to stay in the lead.
“I want to win the championship and
I will do my best to win the rest of the races
this year,” said Warnia.
