Vista, CA (4/26/2011) –
Motoworks’ Josh Frederick charged hard
and topped the pro podium, with his first win
of the season at round four of the 2011 WORCS
series, while teammate Jeremie Warnia joined
him on the podium in third.
Cahuilla Creek in Anza, CA was the hosting
facility for this event and the track had
been groomed to near perfection. A little
drizzle fell in the morning to help keep the
dust down and made for good racing in the
afternoon pro main event.
The ideal track conditions helped Josh Frederick
to take his first win of the season. “It
feels good to finally get a win. We made a
few suspension changes to the quad for this
round and it worked flawlessly,” said
Frederick, who flew off the starting line
in fourth place.

Frederick worked his way up and made his
way around Dustin Nelson to take over the
number three spot. Frederick kept a fast pace
and rode smart, staying close to the leaders,
teammate Jeremie Warnia, and Beau Baron. Frederick
was patient and it paid off as he was able
to pass both riders as they stopped in the
pits. In the final laps, Frederick would have
to pit for gas as well, which allowed Warnia
to pass him, but Frederick was on a mission
and was able to take back the lead, when Warnia
bobbled a bit. Frederick then held that lead
all the way to the checkered flag. “I
just have to thank Can-Am, Motoworks, Johnny
Leach and the entire crew for all of their
help. This was my first win and I am hoping
it is just the start of more to come,”
said Frederick, who is currently second in
the points chase.

fastest lap time of 09:51.869 |
Jeremie Warnia had an impressive run as he
led for six laps and recorded the fastest
lap time of the race in lap two with a time
of 09:51.869. Warnia was in second off the
start and made a quick pass on Dustin Nelson
to take over the lead. Warnia fought hard
but would eventually fall back to third place
when he went off the track in the final lap.
Although he finished in third, Warnia still
retains the pro points lead. “I am a
little disappointed but I am going to train
harder and I am hoping to win at the next
round because I really want to win a championship,”
said Warnia.
Dillon Zimmerman, who is still recovering
from an injury to his shoulder was showing
improvement as he was able to work his way
into an eighth place finish.
