Vista, CA (1/26/2011) – Can-Am/Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia and Josh Frederick both found their way to the podium for the first round of the 2011 WORCS series while newest team member Mark Holz took the win in the Side-by-Side Class 1 race aboard the Motoworks Can-Am Commander.

Honolulu Hills was the hosting facility for the weekend’s events that kicked off with perfect weather and good track conditions that helped Jeremie Warnia get off to a second place start behind Josh Creamer. Warnia was on a mission as he immediately began to challenge Creamer for the lead and after a short battle, Warnia took the lead and began to pull away. Warnia held his lead for the entire race and held off a late charge from Dustin Nelson to take the first Pro win of the 2011 WORCS season. “I am very happy to give the team the first win this year. I have been training very hard and I am hoping to win a lot more,” stated Warnia.

Josh Frederick was in a solid fifth place off the line and quickly made his way around teammate Dillon Zimmerman to take over fourth. From there the current champ began to chase down the leaders and made his way into the number three spot by the end of the second lap. Frederick put on a hard charge and was gaining ground on second place Dustin Nelson, but ran out of time before he could make a move, giving him the final spot on the pro podium.

Dillon Zimmerman got off to a great start in fourth place, but would fall back to fifth where he battled with Josh Row for almost the entire race. Zimmerman kept his cool despite the intense pressure and held off the challenger to round out the top five. “Josh and I were really going at it out there, but I just tried to ride smart and choose good lines and it paid off. I was able to hold him off and get a good finish,” said Zimmerman.

“We have been doing a lot of testing and the team has been training hard. They all did an absolutely amazing job out there and we are looking forward to a very successful season,” stated Motoworks team owner Johnny Leach.

For the 2011 season, the Motoworks team has added a Can-Am Commander to the line-up to compete in the Side-by-Side Class 1 race, which is driven by none other than Mark Holz. For his first race of the season, Holz showed that he is definitely in it to win it. The number 673 machine shot off the start in second place, but quickly took over the lead and from there, proceeded to check out on the competition. Holz put an impressive gap between him and the rest of the pack finishing with a lead of more than two minutes to take the SxS Class 1 win. “Mark did a great job out there and we are very pleased to have him racing with us this season,” said Johnny Leach.

With the first race of the season out of the way, the team will be gearing up and getting ready to head out to the desert for round two. The second round of the season will be held on February 26-27 at Buffalo Bill’s Casino in Primm, Nevada where the team will again be trying to dominate the podium.
