Vista, CA (7/18/2011) –
Motoworks’ John Natalie, Jr. came on strong
at round number nine of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross
Championship series, taking the number three
spot on the podium and holding on to the pro
points lead.
The hard packed dirt at Unadilla set the
stage for some intense racing for round number
nine. Motoworks’ John Natalie, Jr.,
who is still recovering from a broken arm,
surprised everyone by taking the ATVRiders.com
Fastest Qualifier award and following it up
with a podium finish.
In the first moto, it was pretty intense
off the start as Natalie and Chase Snapp connected,
sending both riders off the track briefly.
Natalie was able to get back on the track
quickly and make his way up from sixth into
the top five. Natalie battled hard and had
worked his way into the number three position
in lap twelve, but a bobble cost him his position
and he would take the number five position
at the checkered flag.

In moto two, Natalie was looking for redemption
and flew off the start in third behind Josh
Upperman. Natalie pressured Upperman for most
of the moto and was able to make a move for
second in the final two laps. Natalie was
able to pull away slightly and hold down second
all the way to the finish line. Natalie’s
5-2 finishes would put him on the pro podium
in third and allow him to keep his points
lead. “This track was really hard packed
and hard to pass on, but I gave it my all
and we had a great battle out there. We had
a great day and I put the Can-Am on the podium!
I have to thank everyone at Motoworks for
all of their hard work and helping me get
to the podium again,” Natalie said.

Motoworks’ Chad Wienen will not be
able to race for the rest of the season, but
his recovery is going well, and Wienen will
be in attendance at Red Bud in support of
Natalie and the rest of the Motoworks team.
“I’m really looking forward to
being there and showing my support for the
team. I’m also looking forward to seeing
everyone that has helped me out and supported
me through this tough time,” said Wienen,
who is expected to make a full recovery and
return to racing next season.
Round number ten of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships will head to Red Bud in Buchanan,
MI where John Natalie, Jr. will be looking
to top the podium and extend his points lead
as he tries to bring the Can-Am/Motoworks
team the pro championship.
