Vista, CA (3/1/2011) –
Motoworks’ Chad Wienen and John Natalie,
Jr. came on strong and dominated the first round
of the 2011 AMA Pro ATV Motocross Championship
with Wienen taking a huge win and Natalie joining
him on the podium in a close second.
The Motoworks team has been working hard
over the off season and it was immediately
apparent when Chad Wienen took the Fastest
Qualifier award earlier in the day. From there,
Wienen only confirmed that he had every intention
of winning the first round of the 2011 motocross
season.
Wienen was in a solid fourth off the start
in moto one and after an intense battle with
teammate Natalie, Chad Wienen took over the
lead and began to pull away. “Josh Upperman,
John and I were all battling for the lead
and John got a little out of shape and I got
out in front,” explained Wienen, who
went on to take the checkered flag.

John Natalie battle for the lead |
In moto two, Wienen again got off to a good
start in third and shortly into the first
lap, he made his move for the lead. Wienen
kept a steady but incredibly fast pace and
soon pulled a five second lead over the rest
of the pack. Wienen made it look easy as he
cruised to his second moto victory and his
first overall win of the season. “This
was a great way to start the season and I
am really excited about winning. Everything
is working so well this season that I come
off the track and I don't even feel tired.
Now we are going to push forward from here
and hopefully keep winning,” stated
Wienen.
John Natalie, Jr. also had an incredible
race. In the first moto, Natalie was in second
off the gate, right behind Josh Upperman.
There was an intense battle that ensued that
sent Natalie off the track, but he was quickly
able to recover and come back to take a respectable
second place finish.

John Natalie was consistent in both
motos with two second place finishes
which placed him second overall |
In moto two, Natalie had a little trouble
off the start, but quickly made the pass on
Josh Upperman and Harold Goodman to take over
second place. From there, Natalie began to
pull away from the rest of the pack and ride
a solid and consistent moto that would give
him a second place finish once again and put
him in second overall for the day. “We've
been training hard and everyone has been working
really hard so I think Chad and I going one
and two for the first race is pretty good
and definitely shows that Can-Am is a dominating
force this season, but what I want to know
is where is Creamer and Wimmer? Chad and I
wanted to show them the back of our Can Am's!”
Natalie said jokingly.
With Wienen and Natalie taking the first
and second spots on the podium for round one
only adds to the momentum that has built as
they get ready for round two of the 2011 AMA
ATV Motocross Championships that is scheduled
for March 19th-20th at Pell City, AL where
the team will be looking for a repeat of their
round one success.
