Motoworks/Can-Am's
Josh Frederick & company celebrate
their 2010 WORCS Pro ATV Championship
as Frederick sealed the deal by winning
Round 9 of the series in Mesquite, Nevada |
Vista, CA (10/23/2010) - Can
Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick came on strong
at the final round of the 2010 WORCS series
and not only took the Pro ATV win, but also
reclaimed the WORCS Pro ATV Championship.
Going in to the final round at Mesquite,
Nevada, Josh Frederick knew that he not only
needed to win, but he also knew that luck
needed to be on his side as his rival Beau
Baron had the points lead and would need to
finish outside of the top five in order for
Frederick to win the championship.
As the gate dropped for Sunday’s main
event, Frederick was in third place going
into the first lap. Frederick soon made the
pass on Dustin Nelson to take over second
and began to chase down his teammate, Jeremie
Warnia, who was in the lead. After a few laps,
Frederick had closed the gap and made his
move to the front of the pack. It was at that
point that Frederick realized that Beau Baron
was in the pits with mechanical issues.

“I knew that Beau was having issues,
but he is still a tough competitor and I knew
I couldn’t take any chances and I had
to stay out front and take that win if I wanted
to get the championship,” stated Frederick,
who once in the lead, never looked back. Frederick
held his lead for seven laps before reaching
the checkered flag, taking the win and the
2010 WORCS Pro ATV Championship.
“Josh has worked really hard this year
and we are incredibly happy to have the championship
back with him,” stated team owner, Johnny
Leach.
Jeremie Warnia grabbed the Pro holeshot and
led for seven laps before dropping back to
second. Warnia stayed consistent and strong
and went on to claim the second spot on the
Pro podium for the day. “I had a very
good start and I was in the lead for six laps.
I had a good time out there today and I am
happy to see Josh win the championship!”
said Warnia.
Dillon Zimmerman put in a hard charge after
an issue off the start had his in last place.
Zimmerman put the hammer down and made his
way through the pack. Zimmerman would battle
hard with David Haagsma and end his day in
sixth place overall. Zimmerman’s solid
performance all season long allowed him to
achieve his goal of a top five points finish
in his pro rookie year. “I’m happy
with my finish and now my goal for next season
is to finish in the top three,” said
Zimmerman.
“The entire team did a great job. Jeremie
got a great start and held on to finish second
and Dillon finished fifth in points in his
rookie year, so I am proud of their performances,”
stated Leach.
The Can-Am/Motorworks team would like to
congratulate Josh Frederick on winning the
2010 WORCS Pro ATV Championship and the rest
of the team for a job well done, and we look
forward to defending the title in 2011.
