Motoworks'
Josh Frederick took home a 3rd place
finish at Straddleline despite some
company from some Pro GNCC Racers |
Vista, CA (7/29/2010) - Fierce
competition from the east coast could not stop
Motoworks’ Josh Frederick from taking
a podium position at round number seven of the
2010 WORCS series, which allowed him to keep
the Pro points lead as he pursues the 2010 championship.
Straddleline ORV Park was the hosting facility
for round seven that saw rough track conditions
and a WORCS X section that made even the most
seasoned riders cringe. Warm temperatures
and several Pro GNCC racers also came into
play for this round, but Josh Frederick held
his ground and made a strong charge to the
podium.

Josh
Frederick and fellow Can-Am racer Adam
McGill did battle for much of the race
but it was Frederick the winner by 30
seconds with a 3rd place finish which
allowed him to still maintain his points
lead |
Josh Frederick was in third place as the gate dropped with Can-Am’s Adam
McGill close behind. The pair would battle back
and forth for most of the race, swapping positions
several times before Frederick was able to dig
even deeper and begin to pull away. Frederick
would go on to finish 30 seconds ahead of McGill
and claim the number three spot on the podium,
maintaining his points lead with 161 points.
“McGill and I had quite a battle going
on, but I was able to get back around him
and pull away. I may not have won, but I gave
it everything I had out there so I am happy
with my performance. The last two rounds are
crucial to the championship and I want to
be on top of the podium for both of them,”
stated Frederick.

Motoworks'
Dillon Zimmerman finished in a strong
11th place despite being stuck on the
side of the track for over 8 minutes
& being forced to work his way thru
traffic |
Motoworks’ Dillon Zimmerman got off to a decent start as he was in sixth
place off the gate and held his position until
lap two. “I came to the bridge crossing
in the back side of the track and it was really
slick and I slid right off and got stuck for
about eight minutes, which put me in dead last
in my class and let all the Pro-am guys get
around me as well,” Zimmerman explained.
Despite his ordeal, Zimmerman put on an impressive
charge as he would work his way past many
racers to take an eleventh place finish. “I
just tried to stay focused out there and kept
the hammer down,” said Zimmerman, who
is currently sitting comfortably in fifth
place of the Pro points race.
Round eight of the 2010 WORCS series will
be heading to Glen Helen Raceway on September
24th – 26th. And with only two rounds
left in the season, Josh Frederick plans to
take the win as he races closer to taking
another championship for the Can-Am Motoworks
team.
