Motoworks' Josh Frederick takes the Win
at Round 3 & takes sole control of
the Pro Points Lead |
Vista, CA (3/25/2010) - Can-Am
/ Motoworks’ Josh Frederick took the win
and sole control of the Pro points lead at round
three of the 2010 WORCS series while rookie pro
Dillon Zimmerman took a respectable top five finish,
and Cole Henry landed in the top five in the Production
A class.
Crazy Horse MX in Lake Havasu, AZ was the host
location for round three. Dry track conditions
and warm, sunny weather were on hand as racers
lined up for Sunday’s main event. A dead
engine start was slated for Sunday’s main
event, but Josh Frederick was prepared as he
had spent the entire week prior to the race
practicing his starts.
As the signal was given, Frederick flew off
the line in third place and took the lead by
the end of lap one. Once out front, Frederick
never looked back, running a flawless race as
he powered his way to the top of the box. With
Frederick taking his second straight win of
the season, he now holds the points lead with
72 points. “It’s great to have Josh
in the points lead again because we really want
to win back the championship this year,”
stated Motoworks owner and team manager, Johnny
Leach.

Dillon Zimmerman |
Dillon Zimmerman, who has been incredibly consistent
in his rookie year as a pro, continued that
trend by taking a top five finish, which has
him sitting fifth in the pro points chase. Zimmerman
was in mid pack off the start but kept a steady
pace and continuously pressed forward. Zimmerman
was in seventh place at the midway point of
the race and began to pick up the pace. Zimmerman
would battle back and forth with Mike Cafro
several times for the number five spot before
he would be able to make the pass stick and
pull away, to finish in fifth place for the
day.
The newest member of the Motoworks team, Cole
Henry was running strong in the Production A
class. Henry was second off the line, but a
second turn tangle up sent him to the back of
the pack with over a one minute deficit. Henry
put on a hard charge and soon found himself
in the number five spot, where he would remain
for the final two laps of the race.
“The team did a fantastic job out there
and we plan to continue that success at round
four,” Johnny Leach concluded.
Round four of the 2010 WORCS series will be
held at Racetown 395 in Adelanto, CA on April
25th, where Josh Frederick will be looking to
increase his points lead as he tries to reclaim
the WORCS Pro ATV Championship.
