Motoworks' Josh Frederick takes the Win
at Round 2 & moves into a tie for
the Pro ATV Points Lead |
Vista, CA (3/4/2010) - Motoworks’
Josh Frederick topped the podium at round two
of the 2010 WORCS series while teammate Dillon
Zimmerman took his first ever WORCS Pro class
holeshot and newest Motoworks team member, Cole
Henry, made the podium in the Production A class.
A dead engine start was slated for round two
of the WORCS series, which was held at the famous
Buffalo Bill’s Resort in Primm, NV. The
13-mile loop was a high-speed track that became
incredibly whooped out and rutted over the course
of the two hour race, but Josh Frederick didn’t
seem to mind one bit.
Frederick was eighth off the line and worked
up to fifth before the end of the first lap,
and proceeded to work into fourth from there.
Frederick rode smart and paced himself until
the time was right and then he began to make
his move for the front. By lap ten, Frederick
had charged his way into the lead and began
to pull away from the rest of the pack. Frederick
would take the win with almost a minute lead
over second place.
“The track was pretty rough so I decided
to pace myself for a little while and then about
the halfway point I pushed hard. We also made
a few suspension changes to the bike and that
worked awesome, so I was able to take the win,”
stated Frederick, who is now tied for first
in pro points and is determined to take the
round three win and the points lead. “I
want to bring the championship back to the Can-Am
Motoworks team, so I will be training hard and
giving it my all out there,” concluded
Frederick.
Dillon Zimmerman had a great run as well. The
rookie pro shot off the line with his Goldspeed
tires to take the holeshot and led briefly before
settling in to the number five position. Zimmerman
would remain unchallenged in fifth all the way
to the checkered flag, to round out the top
five. “Motoworks has built a really fast
bike, but I was still pretty happy to take the
holeshot,” said Zimmerman.

Cole Henry |
Pro-am class racer Cole Henry had a good race
in Saturday’s Production A class. Henry
got a mid pack start and made his way into fourth
by the end of the first lap. Henry then began
chasing down the competition and claimed the
number two spot in lap three and held it all
the way to the checkered flag. “I had
a great time out there. I’ve been training
hard and I am hoping to take the win at round
three,” said Henry.
The next round of the 2010 WORCS series will
be held in Lake Havasu, on March 19th –
21st where Josh Frederick will be looking to
gain sole control of the points lead, while
teammates Zimmerman and Henry will be shooting
for the podium.
