#44 Chad Wienen claimed his first overall
Pro ATV win of his 2010 season aboard
his Motoworks Can-Am DS450 & also
claimed the fastest lap times of the day |
Vista, CA (8/4/2010) - Motoworks’
Chad Wienen took his first overall win of the
season at Red Bud and laid down some of the fastest
lap times of the season as he charged his way
to victory, while teammates Jeremie Warnia and
John Natalie, Jr. would claim top ten finishes.
The weather was great and track conditions
were good at round ten of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships and those conditions, combined
with the fact that the track is a favorite of
many racers, including Chad Wienen, helped the
team excel and helped to put Wienen on the podium.
In the first Pro moto, Chad Wienen charged
off the line in fifth place and was soon in
the hunt for a better position. Wienen tracked
down Greg Gee and Nick DeNoble and make his
way past both riders to take a third place finish
in moto one, but it was in moto two, when Wienen
had his most impressive run.

Chad Wienen went 3-1 on the day to secure
the overall win at Red Bud MX |
As the gate dropped, Wienen was in third off the line and laid down some of
the fastest lap times seen all season. In lap
four Wienen took the lead over Josh creamer
and recorded the fastest lap time of the race
with a time of 02:15.043, which was five seconds
faster than the National Pro 450 dirt bikes
that had raced at Red Bud just a couple of weeks
prior, and those blazingly fast lap times stayed
consistent for Wienen for the rest of the moto.
Wienen’s incredible performance not only
earned him the moto win, but also his first
overall win of the season.
“Red Bud is my favorite track and I really
wanted to come out and have fun this weekend.
To be on top of the podium was kind of icing
on the cake for me and it feels great to take
that win. I’ve had some bad luck this
season and it is a big relief for me so I have
to thank everyone at Motoworks and Can-Am for
helping me get to this point,” stated
Wienen, who is hoping for a repeat performance
at the final round at Loretta Lynn’s.

#62 Jeremie Warnia went 8-8 at Red Bud
to take home 7th place overall on the
day & retain his 8th place spot in
the points chase |
Jeremie “Frenchy” Warnia put in
two consistent motos, finishing in a solid eighth
in moto one and taking another eighth place
finish in moto two, which put him in seventh
overall. Warnia is currently ranked eighth in
points going into the final round.
John Natalie, Jr. made a hard charge in moto
one after he had a couple of issues off the
start. Natalie recorded the fastest lap time
of the moto in lap two with a time of 02:16.054.
Natalie’s fast lap times helped him work
his way from the back of the pack to seventh
place before reaching the checkered flag. In
moto two, Natalie came out with a strong start
in fifth place and soon worked his way into
fourth. Natalie was about to go for the number
three spot when he encountered issues and had
to pull off the track, but his strong performance
helped him round out the top ten overall for
the day.
The final round of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships will be held on August 14th –
15th at the legendary Loretta Lynn’s Ranch
where Chad Wienen and John Natalie, Jr. will
be on a mission to dominate the final podium
of the year.
