#13 John Natalie Jr grabbed 1st place
overall at PVR - John & Can-Am's first
win of the 2010 AMA ATV-MX Season |
Vista, CA (7/6/2010) - There
was extra reason for celebration over the Fourth
of July weekend for the Can-Am/Motoworks team
as Motoworks’ John Natalie put on an incredible
performance, giving the team its first ever AMA
ATV Motocross Championship overall win at Pleasure
Valley Raceway.
Beautiful weather was on hand and a new track
design for the Armagh, PA facility definitely
worked in John Natalie’s favor as he charged
off the line, taking the moto one holeshot.
Natalie would hold his lead from start to finish
despite intense pressure from Dustin Wimmer
that would almost cost Natalie the race when
the two would connect and almost cause both
riders to almost crash. In spite of the close
call, Natalie kept his composure and the lead,
and would hold that position all the way to
the checkered flag.
In moto two, Natalie would come off the line
in second, but quickly take over the lead early
in the first lap. The Ironman would hold on
to his lead for four laps before Josh Creamer
would challenge him. Knowing he only need to
finish in second to secure the overall win,
Natalie played it smart and would cruise to
a second place finish in moto two, which would
give him the overall victory.

“I have to thank Motoworks for all of
their hard work, and my fans for being there.
Everyone has been working really hard and I
couldn’t ask for anything more right now.
To take the win in my home state is really special
for me and I couldn’t be happier to give
Can-Am and Motoworks their first overall National
win,” said Natalie.
“John’s win was absolutely one
of the biggest moments ever for our team. John
came to us at the beginning of the season and
said that he wanted to be the first to win on
a Can-Am at Nationals and he did it, so this
was a really big deal for him and for our team.
Everyone has been working so hard and to take
the overall this weekend was an incredible experience,”
stated team manager Johnny Leach.
Jeremie Warnia also put in a strong effort
as he would claim solid 6-8 finishes giving
him sixth overall. “I was able to get
good starts this weekend and it helped me to
finish well,” said Warnia.
