#13 John Natalie Jr grabbed fourth place
overall at Steel City with a 4-5 finish |
Vista, CA (6/2/2010) - Motoworks’
John Natalie made a hard charge at the ATV Stampede
at Steel City Raceway to take fourth overall and
move into the number three spot in the AMA Pro
ATV Championship points chase.
John Natalie was the hometown favorite at Delmont,
PA as round five of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships got underway, and Natalie put
on an impressive performance for all of his
fans.
Natalie charged off the line in moto one in
a close second place behind Josh Upperman and
took over the lead just two laps in. Natalie
would hold his lead for six laps before settling
in for a fourth place finish. In the second
moto, Natalie had his work cut out for him as
he recovered from a 12th place start. Natalie
quickly began picking off the competition. Natalie
held strong and made his way to the number five
position before reaching the checkered flag.
Natalie’s impressive 4-5 finishes gave
him fourth overall and has him sitting in a
comfortable third in the pro points race with
171 points, which is ten points ahead of his
nearest competitor.
Chad Wienen ran into a bit of bad luck in the
first moto, but came back strong in moto two.
Wienen got off to a decent start in the second
moto and charged his way into the number four
position at the mid-way point, where he would
remain until reaching the finish line. As the
series reaches the halfway mark, Wienen currently
holds down the number six spot in the points
championship and is hoping to gain some ground
for the final rounds. “I’m really
going to be giving it my all out there. I want
to win and I’m hoping to be on the podium
at the next round at Spring Creek,” said
Wienen.

Jeremie Warnia went 9-18 for 17th overall
at Steel City after a crash in moto 2
put him to the back of the pack |
Jeremie Warnia was looking good in moto one
as he worked his way up through traffic to take
a ninth place finish. Warnia was also doing
well in the second moto, but while he was battling
with Jeremy Lawson, the pair would connect,
which would cause both riders to crash and send
Warnia to the back of the pack.
