#13 John Natalie Jr secured the Fastest
Qualifier Award at Ballance MotoX |
Vista, CA (4/20/2010) - Can Am
/ Motoworks’ John Natalie was on a mission
at round two of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship
series, taking the fastest qualifier award, the
moto one holeshot, and the moto one win, while
teammate Chad Wienen finished in a strong fourth
overall, putting him in third in the points chase.
During Saturday’s qualifiers, John Natalie
seemed unstoppable as he claimed the ATVRiders.com
“Fastest Qualifier” award with a
time of 1.39.145, while teammate Chad Wienen
scored the second fastest qualifying time with
1.39.199.
As the gate dropped for the first pro moto
at Ballance MotoX, John Natalie was on the gas
just like in the qualifying round. Natalie flew
off the line, taking the moto one holeshot,
but he was followed closely by Josh Creamer.
Natalie stayed focused and held his lead, despite
a heated battle with Creamer in the final few
laps, and took the moto one win. “I had
a great start, so I was able to go out there
and just set the pace,” stated Natalie.
The number 13 Can-Am racer seemed ready for
a repeat in moto two, but Natalie encounter
an issue early in the race and would end his
day with eighth overall, but that did not deter
his enthusiasm one bit. “I’m really
looking forward to Birch Creek. I plan on picking
up right where I left off in moto one here and
take the overall win!” Natalie exclaimed.

Chad Wienen also had a productive weekend as
he charged his way to a fourth place overall
finish and the number three spot in the points
chase. Wienen stayed consistent and chose great
lines that enabled him to get past Dustin Wimmer
in moto two. “I was right on Dustin and
I was just watching what lines he was taking.
In this one section there was a line that I
thought looked faster. I took it and got around
him, so I guess I just kind of outsmarted him
on that one,” said Wienen, who has plans
of being on the podium at round three.
Round number three of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships will head to Danville, VA where
Birch Creek will play host as John Natalie and
Chad Wienen will be in pursuit of the podium.
