Moto-Xperts'
Casey Martin has won 5 out of 8 rounds
of the AMA ATV Motocross Series after
Sunday Creek MX |
Lafayette, IN (7/5/2011) - Moto-Xperts’
Casey Martin captured his fifth Pro-am Production
win of the season with teammate Aaron Meyer joining
him on the podium in third at round number eight
of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championships this
past weekend at Sunday Creek in Millfield, OH.
On Saturday the Moto-Xperts team tried their
hand at the pro class to get in a little extra
seat time. “It rained and the track was
pretty muddy so we just went out there for some
extra time on the track, but it was fun,”
said Casey Martin.

Martin
currently sits first in the ATV MX Pro-Am
Production Class with 205 points |
On Sunday is when the Moto-Xperts team put
the hammer down with Casey Martin taking the
win and extending his points lead. Martin grabbed
the holeshot in the first moto and had plenty
of company in the way of Jeffrey Rastrelli.
Martin and Rastrelli battled it out and swapped
positions with Martin falling back to second.
Martin battled back and regained the lead and
began to pull away, taking the moto one win.
In moto two, Martin again grabbed the holeshot.
“I got the holeshot and Aaron was right
behind me so I knew I could relax a little and
I just put my head down and stayed focused,”
said Martin, who recorded the fastest lap time
of the race in lap three with a time of 01:36.312.
Martin’s fast pace helped him to take
the moto two win with almost a ten second lead
over the competition and claim the top spot
on the Pro-am Production podium. “Toby
and all the guys at Moto-Xperts worked really
hard this weekend and I can’t thank them
enough for all they do,” said Martin.
If all goes well for Martin and he is able
to take the overall win in the next two motos,
he could wrap up the championship early. “I
am really hoping to top the podium for the next
couple of rounds because I think that will wrap
things up for me and I’ll be able to give
Moto-Xperts their first Pro-am Production championship,”
said Martin.

Moto-Xperts
/ Dragon Racing Fuel's Aaron Meyer took
third overall at Sunday creek aboard his
Honda TRX450R ATV |
Aaron Meyer who is currently third in the points
race had a bit of bad luck this weekend but
still managed to claim a podium finish. Meyer
went down in the whoops section of the track
in both the Pro-am qualifier and then again
on Saturday during moto two of the Pro Production
class, but Meyer wasn’t about to give
up and was ready for action on Sunday. In the
first moto Meyer was in the top five off the
start and was looking solid, but in lap four,
Meyer went down hard in the whoops. “I
crashed again but I got back up and kept going
and I was able to get back up to seventh,”
said Meyer.
Moto two went much better for Meyer as he charged
off the line in second right behind teammate
Casey Martin. Meyer battled it out with Nick
Moser and Jeffrey Rastrelli but was able to
hold his ground and take a third place finish
in moto two, giving him third overall for the
day. “It felt good to be racing on my
home state and finish on the podium. Moto-Xperts
and Dragon Fuels did a great job this weekend
and I’m hoping to put them on the podium
again at Unadilla,” stated Meyer.
Round nine of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championships
will be heading to Unadilla in New Berlin, NY
on July 16th – 17th where Casey Martin
and Aaron Meyer will again be going for the
podium.
