Moto-Xperts/ Dragon Racing Fuels
#75 Casey Martin took the holeshot in
Moto 1 |
Lafayette, IN (4/6/2011) - The
Moto-Xperts / Dragon Racing Fuels ATV MX Team
headed to Oakland, KY this past weekend for round
3 of the AMA ATV Motocross Nationals. Ballance
MX is where the action would happen at this round,
and both MXP / Dragon Racing Fuel Pro-Am riders
were on hand once again in hopes to take home
two more podium finishes. A combination of bad
luck and testing new set-ups would mark the first
race of the season that the team didn’t
finish on top the podium.
“This weekend we experienced some bad
luck as Casey Martin’s ATV threw a rod
which put him out of the race in Moto 1 after
grabbing the Holeshot”, said team owner
Toby Reed.

Martin experienced a thrown engine
rod and was unable to finish moto 1 |
"My Moto-Xperts powered Honda TRX450R
and Maxxis tires helped me rip the holeshot
in Moto 1. Unfortunately, a little bad luck
put me out of the race for Moto 1. The whole
MXP crew went to work between motos to have
me an ATV to ride for Moto 2, so I can't thank
them enough”, said Casey Martin.
After working between motos, the team put together
a new engine for Martin. This new engine, however
reliable, was not as powerful as the one he
was riding before. Despite the difference, Martin
hit the track in hopes to stick with the front
of the pack.
“With having the last gate pick I got
a bad start, but put my head down and worked
through the pack. My Lonestar Racing/ Custom
Axis A-arm and suspension set-up worked awesome,
soaking up all the flat landings from trying
to catch up. Our entire team has been busting
our butts at every race and in between races,
so I can't thank them and all of our sponsors
enough. We will be back in front of the pack
at Budds Creek”, stated Martin.

Team Rider Aaron Meyer also ran into some bad
luck during his motos. Before this round the team
decided to try some new set-ups on his Honda TRX450R
in hopes to shave off time from his lap-times.
“My performance at round 3 didn't turn
out as good as I had expected. We had tried
a few new set ups for round 3, and they turned
out to be lessons learned”, said Aaron
Meyer.

after AMA ATV MX Round 3 at Ballance MX
|
“Despite my qualifying positions, my
Rekluse clutch and Maxxis tires managed to get
my Moto-Xperts/ Dragon Racing Fuels ATV off
the concrete to a top starting position in both
motos. I was holding a top 3 finishing position
until I missed the landing of a jump and going
off the track for a bit which cost me a few
positions. After learning from round 3 I am
excited and looking forward to round 4 at Budds
Creek in two weeks”, stated Meyer.
