MX AMA ATV Harescramble Series Round

Elkland, PA (6/2/2010) - Round 3 of
the AMA ATV National Hare-scramble series will
be held at the Miles Mountain Motocross facility
in Elkland, Pa. on June 12thth. The motorcycle
portion of the event will be held on June 14th.
The event will be co-sanctioned with the WNYOA
(Western New York Off-road Association) Series
and the Pennsylvania State Hare-scramble Championship
Series. With these three strong organizations
coming together we are anticipating a great
turnout. Last year 815 riders tackled the 12
mile course over two days and we are expecting
more this year.
This will be the 6th year Miles Mountain has
hosted hare-scrambles, and the second consecutive
year hosting an AMA ATV National event. At last
years successful event five of the top ten ranked
atv riders in the country were in attendance
all vying for the coveted $3,000 purse. The
action was fast and furious with the lead changing
hands several times before Sunbury, Pa native
Chris Borich emerged on top. The event was such
a success that Miles Mountain was named AMA
ATV Organizer of the year for 2009. It was a
huge honor for the small town facility to be
chosen out of the thousands of promoters across
the country. Then in January Miles Mountain
was awarded the WNYOA Promoter of the Year award
making it three years in a row for such an honor.
Lake Country Motorsports and the Cold Mountain
Ice Cream are the featured sponsors. There will
be a large amount of rider contingency to give
out this year. Tires, grips, and hundreds of
certificates will be given to go along with
the $3000 PRO PURSE. Plaques will be awarded
to winners in each class. There are classes
for riders of all ages and ability, including
quads, bikes, pee-wee, minis and mini quad,
55 in total over the 2 days. So come out and
give it a try or just come to watch the riders
test themselves on the course.
Gates open Friday, June 11th at 10am. Sign
up/ registration will be Friday from 3pm-8pm,
Saturday 7am-12pm and 2pm-5pm, and Sunday from
7am-10:30am.
