Beau
Baron took third in the Pro ATV Championship
aboard his MCR / Maxxis Honda TRX450R
ATV |
Bonsall, CA (11/25/2011) - MCR
/ Maxxis Tire’s Beau Baron ended his season
in a respectable third in series points with David
Haagsma laying claim to fourth, after a tough
final round at Speed World MX in Surprise, AZ.
The final round of the series was anything
but typical as rain fell the night before, creating
a wet and muddy track for the start of the Pro
main event. A good start was critical for any
racer wanting to end their season on the podium
and Beau Baron was well aware of that fact.
Baron quickly charged off the start and got
into the number three spot. After a couple of
laps, Baron closed in on second place and began
to challenge for position. Baron was holding
strong and getting ready to make a move when
disaster struck. “My engine just let go.
I was right behind Jeremie Warnia and I knew
I was going to get him and then everything just
went downhill,” said Baron. “I really
think I could have won, but that’s racing.
I had a pretty good season overall, so I am
happy about that, plus riding for Mike Cafro’s
team has been a lot of fun. I really have to
thank Mike Cafro, Maxxis Tire’s and all
of our sponsors for this year. They have put
a lot into our program to make it successful,”
said Baron.

David
Haagsma placed fourth at Speed World MX
& claimed fifth overall in the Pro
ATV Class Championship |
While Baron ran into difficulties, David Haagsma
ended his season strong. Haagsma was outside
of the top five off the start, but kept the
hammer down and moved into the number four spot
after just five laps. Haagsma kept his fast
and steady pace going and hung on for a fourth
place finish. Haagsma’s solid performance
all season long, allowed him to claim fifth
overall in pro points for the year. “It
was a pretty good season for me. I had consistent
races and I was able to achieve my goal and
finish in the top five. I have to thank Mike
Cafro Racing and all of my sponsors for this
season. I had a good year and I hope to do even
better next season,” said Haagsma.
