MCR
/ Maxxis Racing's Beau Baron took second
in the WORCS Pro ATV class. Baron now
sits third in the points |
Bonsall, CA (5/4/2011) - MCR/Maxxis
Tire’s Beau Baron came on strong for round
four of the 2011 WORCs series and made his way
to second place on the podium, his best finish
so far this season, while teammate David Haagsma
claimed his best finish in fourth and Julie Russell
continued to dominate the Women’s A class
by taking her third straight win of the season.
A little drizzle helped keep the dust down
at Cahuilla Creek MX on Sunday morning and helped
Beau Baron get the traction he needed for a
good start in the pro main event. Baron was
in third off the line behind Dustin Nelson and
was able to make his way into second in the
third lap.

taking second in the Pro ATV Class Beau
Baron placed first in the SxS Class 1

Baron held his position for several laps before
having to stop in the pits, where Josh Frederick
was able to get ahead after bypassing the pits.
Baron got back out on the course and kept the
hammer down and was soon close behind Jeremie
Warnia, who was now in second. Baron pressured
Warnia and was able to get by when Warnia made
a mistake and went off the track in the final
lap. Baron held his position all the way to
the checkered flag taking his season’s
best finish in second. “I had a good start,
thanks to my Maxxis Tires, and I was able to
stay close to the front and when Warnia made
a mistake I was able to capitalize on that and
take second. I’m really happy to be on
the podium again and I hope I’ll be up
there again at Payette,” said Baron.
Baron also participated in the Class One Side-by-Side
race held on Saturday on ATVRiders.com’s
bone stock Polaris RZR XP 900 and even edged
out seasoned UTV racer, William Yokely to take
the win. Baron has raced the RZR only twice
and has been on the podium both times and is
holding down fourth in the Class One points
race.

podium. Haagsma now sits fifth in the
point race |

his career best pro finish as he charged is
way to the number four spot, missing the podium
by only a matter of seconds. Haagsma got off
to a good start in fifth place and was able
to move into the number four spot when Dustin
Nelson encountered engine problems. Haagsma
rode a solid race and is holding down a respectable
fifth place in the pro points race in his rookie
year. “David did a great job. He has stepped
up his game in the last couple races, now we
just want him to stay consistent,” said
team manager, Mike Cafro.
Although he did not get the finish he was looking
for at this round, Mike Cafro held on to finish
just outside of the top ten and is anticipating
a good race for round five.
