Beau Baron placed 4th in the Pro ATV Class |
Bonsall, CA (3/5/2011) - MCR/Maxxis
Tire's Beau Baron made a top five appearance at
round two of the 2011 WORCS series, while defending
Women's A champion, Julie Russell took her class
win and looks to be well on her way to another
championship.
Buffalo Bill's was the hosting facility for
the weekend's events that saw a little snow
and cold temperatures on Saturday, but that
didn't stop Julie Russell from grabbing the
Women's A holeshot and checking out on the competition.
Russell pulled the fastest lap time of the race
in lap two with a time of 10:36.017 and took
the win by over a minute and a half over second
place. Russell is now tied for first in the
points chase, but has every intention of taking
over the lead at Lake Havasu next month.

Team
Manager Mike Cafro worked his way up throughout
the race into ninth positon before crossing
the finish line |
In the pro ranks, Beau Baron got off to a top
five start and battled with Jarrod McClure for
the first lap and in lap two, he was able to
get past McClure to take over fourth place.
Baron also cam under fire from Josh Frederick
but at the end of the day Baron was able to
maintain his fourth place finish. “Beau
rode a good race and we are certain he will
be on the podium for round three,” stated
team manger, Mike Cafro.

Rookie
Pro David Haagsma was consistent throughout
the race and finished with a respectful
seventh place |
Rookie pro, David Haagsma put in a solid and consistent
race. Haagsma came off the start in the top ten
and began to push forward. Haagsma battle hard
with former team mate Josh Row, swapping positions
several times over the course of several laps
before settling in to seventh place where he would
remain until reaching the checkered flag. “We
expect to see continued progress from David through
the season. He is working hard and doing a good
job,” said Cafro.
Mike Cafro himself also ran a consistent race.
Cafro started just outside of the top ten but
after battling with Justin Waters and Robbie
Mitchell, Cafro worked his way into the number
nine spot before crossing the finish line. “We
are looking forward to Lake Havasu. I a little
more technical of a track, which suits the teams
style a little better,” said Cafro, who
is expecting all of his riders to perform well
at round three.
The third round of the 2011 WORCS series will
be held at Crazy Horse Campground on the shores
of Lake Havasu, AZ on March 19th - 20th where
Julie Russell is looking for another win and
Beau Baron will be charging for the podium.
