Levi Marana came
from a mid pack gate drop to finish
6th place overall for the day

Bonsall, CA( 4/30/2010) - Beau
Baron and Josh Row grabbed top five finishes at
round four of the 2010 WORCS series while David
Haagsma topped the Pro-am podium and Julie Russell
claimed her fourth straight win of the season
in the Women’s A class.
Beau Baron got off to a top ten start in the
Pro Production class and battled with Ryan Piplic
in the first lap but was able to get by and
work his way into fifth. From there, Baron battled
with John Shafe for almost two laps before Shafe
would end up crashing and Baron would take over
the number four spot. Baron would hold down
fourth for ten laps before crossing the finish
line. “I was catching up to Jeremie Warnia,
who was in third, but my rear shock went out
and that slowed me down a little,” said
Baron.

Josh Row |
Consistency has been the name of the game for
pro racer Josh Row this season, and round four
was no exception. Row was in mid pack off the
line and began picking off the competition until
reaching fifth place, behind teammate Baron.
Row would take his number five position all
the way to the checkered flag. Row’s impressive
performance has him sitting in third place in
the points chase.

Levi Marana came
from a mid pack gate drop to finish
6th place overall for the day
|
Levi Marana was looking strong as he worked his
way up from a mid-pack start. Marana kept a steady
pace and worked his way into the number six spot
by the mid-way point. Marana has been consistent
all season since returning from injury and is
in the top ten in the points race.
MCR/Maxxis’s team manager Mike Cafro,
who was within the top five of the pro points
race, would end up sacrificing his own race
for the needs of his team. “My quad started
overheating out there so I pulled into the pits.
I figured that if I was having that issue, some
of the others might be as well, so I stayed
in the pits and helped cool down their radiators
when they came in to pit,” stated Cafro,
who would take a 17th place finish.
David Haagsma rode a flawless race in the Pro-am
class. Haagsma flew off the line, taking the
holeshot and checking out on the competition.
Haagsma led from start to finish and recorded
the fastest lap time in his class in lap three
with a time of 10:15.164. Haagsman leads the
Pro-am class with 90 points, 16 points ahead
of second place.

Julie Russell dominated
the Women's A class with a 1st overall!
|
Women’s A racer, Julie Russell had an
outstanding race on Saturday. Russell got out
front early in lap one and led from start to
finish. Russell would cross the finish line
over seven minutes ahead of the competition.
In fact, Russell’s time was so good that
she qualified for Sunday’s Pro-am main,
but Russell, who is very dedicated to the team’s
success in pursuit of the pro championship,
felt she would be of more help to her team if
she were to support them in the pits instead
of racing.
Round five of the 2010 WORCS series will travel
to Milford, CA to Honey Lake MX on May 22nd-23rd.
The track is a favorite of the team, and last
year, Beau Baron took the pro win, which he
is hoping to do again this year
