Beau Baron takes the 2nd Spot at Buffalo
Bill's to maintain a tie for the Pro ATV
points lead |
Primm, NV (3/4/2010) - MCR Maxxis
racers Beau Baron and Josh Row found their way
to the podium in round two of the 2010 WORCS series,
while team newcomer David Haagsma claimed the
win in the Pro-Am Production class and Julie Russell
took the Women’s A class win as well.
Held at Buffalo Bill’s Casino & Resort
in Primm, NV, round two of the 2010 WORCS series
was a very successful one for the MCR Maxxis
team and even though the current WORCS Pro champ,
Beau Baron was feeling a bit under the weather,
he still put out a tremendous effort. Baron
got off to a decent start and worked his way
into second before the end of the first lap,
and work his way to the lead by lap four.
Baron would eventually fall back to second
after leading for three laps, but he was not
about to give up and kept pushing all the way
to the finish line to hold on for second. “I’m
really proud of Beau, he was feeling really
bad he was getting more and more dehydrated,
but he kept on pushing and was still able to
make the podium,” said team manager Mike
Cafro.
Baron is now tied with Josh Frederick for the
points lead and is determined that round three
see him back on top of the podium. “I
really want to keep the championship and I am
motivated more than ever to win at round three,”
said Baron.

Josh Row, who has really come on strong this
season was on top of his game for round two.
Row got off to a good start and claimed the
lead shortly into the first lap. Row led for
three laps before teammate Baron would take
over the lead. Row kept his cool and rode smart
to hang on for a third place podium finish.
“Josh has been doing a great job this
season. He has really stepped it up and I couldn’t
ask for anything more,” Cafro stated.
David Haagsma not only claimed the fastest
lap time in the Pro-am Production class, with
a time of 09:49.4, but he also ran away with
his class win. Haagsma got off to a good start
and was soon picking off the competition one
by one until he reached the number one spot
in lap three. From there, Haagsma checked out
and finished over seven minutes ahead of the
rest of his class.

the Women’s A class, but wasted little
time in working her way up. In lap two, Russell
took over the lead, and recorded the fastest
lap time of her class. Russell kept a fast pace
and finished over a minute ahead of second place.
“Julie was really stoked to take the win.
Now she is in the points lead and I think that
is a real confidence booster for her,”
stated Mike Cafro.
With two rounds now under their belts, the
MCR Maxxis team is well on their way to a successful
season and is looking for more wins at round
