Thomas Brown earned his first Pro ATV Motocross Overall Win of his career at Loretta Lynn's. Teammate Chad Wienen joined him on the podium in second

Suwanee, GA (8/13/2013) - Maxxis came out on top at the year’s final round of the ATV Motocross National Championship Series, with a first-ever Pro victory for Thomas Brown and a second-place finish for Chad Wienen, who had already wrapped up the championship title in July. Round 10 was held August 10 in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

The win didn’t come easily for Brown, who overcame a massive wreck to take third place in the first moto. Late in the first lap, he was thrown over his handlebars, and his bike rolled over him, but he was back in the race in matter of seconds.

The second moto was a different story, as Brown took the lead after the second turn and held it for the rest of the race. "It was a spectacular day for me,” he said. “A lot of ups and downs to get here.” Brown and Wienen utilized taller Razr and Razr2 rears for the mud in the first moto. Once the track dried, they ran the normal Razr MX and Razr Cross rears. “The Maxxis tires just hooked up,” he added. “Big, small, whatever we need, we always have the tires to get up front!" Although Saturday’s race gave him his first win of the season, Brown had earlier landed on the podium seven times this year.

Like Brown, Wienen praised his Maxxis tires, and was happy for his teammate’s winning performance as well: "The tires were great. We had a lot of different conditions with the loose loam and then hardpack. We had a great setup all the way around, and I'm really happy with how everything went down. Congratulations to Thomas on his first win!" Second in the day’s racing, Wienen took eight victories during the season, and earned a total of 454 points. In second place overall in the championship standings, Brown racked up 391 points.

Also finishing well for the day and the season were Josh Upperman and Nick Denoble, who each earned in spot in the overall top ten. Upperman was fifth at Round 10 and took sixth place for the season, while Denoble took eighth place in Saturday’s race and seventh for the year. In ninth place for the day, Casey Martin was just outside the season’s top ten in 11th place overall.

Maxxis congratulates Thomas Brown on his season-ending victory and Chad Wienen on his championship, and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances throughout the year.
