Maxxis / H&M Motorsports David Haagsma placed second at WORCS round 3 aboard his Honda TRX450R ATV with Maxxis Razr Xc Tires
Suwanee, GA (3/23/2012) - Maxxis’ new Razr Xc tires took David Haagsma to second place at Round 3 of the WORCS ATV series, held March 18 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

A rookie in the Pro class, Haagsma earned the best finish of his career to date. The podium was the second of the season for the Maxxis/H&M Motorsports rider. “The track conditions at Havasu were brutal. It was so rough,” he said. “The track is full of rocks and sand, and it’s my least favorite track on the schedule. I’m so pumped to come out of this track with a second! The new Xc rear has worked great at every track we have used them at and proved to do so again! Our tires still look new after an hour and 45 minutes of misery.” Teammate Beau Baron also did well and held the lead for the first half of the race, but finished fourth after a high-speed crash set him back. Baron and Haagsma are now second and third in series points.

Team MCR’s Mike Cafro overcame a case of the flu to grab the holeshot for Maxxis, and later said that the Razrs helped him bolt from the gate ahead of the competition. In the Pro Am class, Keith Johnson took both the holeshot and the second place spot on the podium. Johnson now leads the points race in the Pro Am class.

In the hotly contested SxS 1000 class, Baron turned in a second place finish on his new Vipr tires, and is now tied for second in points. “The Viprs worked great,” he said. “The best thing about them was in the deep sand, they stayed straight and kept forward traction. The straight traction was awesome, and even in corners the rear end didn’t step out like you thought it would.” Maxxis driver Ryan Piplic had an off day at round 3, finishing 18th, but still sits second in points.

Maxxis congratulates David Haagsma and all of its sponsored riders for their fine performances.
