Suwanee, GA (5/9/2012) -Maxxis’ ATV sponsored riders were on motocross podiums on both coasts, with a QuadX victory for David Haagsma and an ATV MX National Championship series podium for Pro points leader Chad Wienen. The ATV MX series race was held May 6 at Budds Creek in Mechanicsville, Maryland, and the QuadX event was held May 6 at The Ranch in Anza, California.

Wienen took a victory in the first moto, gaining an early lead and holding it for the rest of the race. He again took the lead in Moto 2 and eventually finished fourth for second place overall. “In the first moto, I was running great and had a good pace and just held on to the end,” he said.

“In the second moto, I came out strong and got in the lead right away. I got hit and made the most of it, but fell back to fourth. We extended our points lead this weekend and we’re looking at the big picture. We’ll bounce back at Walnut in two weeks!” Wienen ran Yellow-Label Razr MX rears and Razr Cross fronts at Round 3.

Also riding Maxxis, Thomas Brown was 4-3 for fourth place overall, while Joe Byrd went 5-6 for sixth overall. Brown is fifth in overall points, and Byrd is eighth.

On the opposite coast, Team Maxxis/H&M rider David Haagsma took QuadX wins in both motos for the overall. Beau Baron did well in the first moto, taking second place, but was unable to finish the second race due to a cracked piston. Haagsma rides the new Razr Xm front and rear tires on his motocross setup.

Maxxis congratulates David Haagsma on his victory and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
