Taylor Kiser took his first win of the 2012

Suwanee, GA (3/4/2012) - Taylor
Kiser took his first victory of the season at the
third round of GNCC ATV racing, while Maxxis’
sponsored riders grabbed four of the top five XC1
Pro spots. Round 3, Steele Creek, was held March
31 in Morganton, North Carolina.
The race belonged to Maxxis from the beginning,
as Ballance Racing/Yamaha’s Walker Fowler
took the holeshot. The lead changed hands in the
opening laps, but Kiser gained the front spot
after the first hour. In the final lap, defending
champ and points leader Chris Borich battled Kiser
almost up to the finish line. “I got off
to a great start,” said Kiser. “The
track had several water crossings and slick conditions,
and the tires performed flawlessly when it was
slick. Other parts were really rutted, and the
tires hooked up and just got me to the finish
in front.”
Borich took third place in XC1, with Fowler and
Brian Wolf earning the fourth and fifth-place
spots. Borich and Kiser are first and second in
XC1 points, while Fowler is fourth and Wolf is
sixth.
Gabe Phillips followed up his XC2 Pro Am win
at Round 2 with a podium spot at Steele Creek,
taking second place in the class. In the morning
race, Team UXC’s Michael Swift won the 4x4
Open class and was fourth overall. Traci Cecco
took third place in the Women’s class for
eighth place overall, while Swift’s teammate
Cliff Beasley won the U2 class and earned ninth
place overall.
