Baron took the podium by placing second
in the ATV Pro class at Clay Peaks MX

Suwanee, GA (6/9/2011) - Riding
the Razr 2 front and the Razr rear, Team MCR/Maxxis’
Beau Baron claimed a podium spot at WORCS’
Round 5. The race was held June 4 in Payette, Idaho.
After starting in the top five, Baron executed
a pass at the mid-point when Josh Frederick and
Dustin Nelson got tangled up in the WORCS-X section
of the track. “The tires worked really well,”
he said. “Conditions went from super hardpacked
blue groove to soft sand on top of the hill. We
grooved them like normal and they lasted really
well considering how fast we were going on the
blue groove.” Baron is currently third in
WORCS’ overall standings.

The Pro podium wasn’t the only highlight
of the weekend for Baron: Aided by his Maxxis
Bighorn 2.0 tires, he also pulled off a victory
in the Side x Side race. “The Bighorn 2.0’s
are light and have a strong sidewall. They don’t
push like the stock tires, and I am able to steer
a lot tighter around the corners,” he said.
The Pro holeshot belonged to Maxxis at Round
5, with MCR/Maxxis’ Davi Haagsma first out
of the gate. Haagsma finished fifth overall. Maxxis
riders also did well in other classes, with Julie
Russell taking her fourth straight victory in
the Women A race and Keith Johnson taking second
in Pro 2. Russell and Johnson sit first and third
overall in their respective classes.
